I don't rate Dylan beyond the excellent "Desire" but his output up til then was extraordinary. Yes, he's had his day but I think all those here who slag him off - they just don't get him, the context of his music -esp when he started out and his place in popular culture. Perhaps they just don't want to get him.

I'm interested in the opinions of those who don't like him, there are some good posts on here by people who detest his music. I'm not being pigheaded about it. You said once someone had picked up on a remark you made you had to reply. I'm not aware of anything saying you have to have the last word in an argument, especially one as trivial as this. As much as anything I'm intrigued - and obviously irritated - at why Dylan threads, seemingly more than other music threads, get this sort of reaction. Anyway, I shouldn't have risen to it and I apologise for doing so since in effect I've taken out a frustrating couple of days on you, which I shouldn't have done.
Anyway, back on topic some rare audience footage from Dylan adn The Band at . Before the Flood, recorded on that tour, is a fabulous live album.
Time for me to apologise too - I continued because, as the world knows, I am a stubborn fucker, and I lost my temper. So, I'm sorry. No hard feelings and all that.
