The Science Museum - Dana Centre

Rewired Teens?
6 May 2009, 19:00 - 20:45

Game consoles, Facebook, Google… Are teenagers’ computer and web habits changing the way their brains work? And is this a good or a bad thing? Come and discuss with Kenan Malik and other experts in the field.

this looks good...

I've been to a couple of those Dana Centre talks (mostly about drugs and music) and they are ded good.

Most of it goes over my head as I'm a bit scared of science but worth going and at least trying to understand new stuff!

Anything with "adult" in the title, be it adults only at the Science Museum to adult only holiday resorts immediately makes me think of "adult" shenanigans. Is it just me? It is just me, isn't it....*shakes head*

Probably! :D

Apparently in geekier/cleverer, less shallow types circles it's quite the pulling joint by all accounts.

Seriously though Ted, I went cos its one of those interesting free things that London offers, and s'good to learn new stuff, innit!

I've been to an evening there too. It's was about fashion and technology. I fancy going to another one sometime.

I'm putting in a bid for the Punk Science thing on June 16th. Then moving on after to celebrate my birthday either with beers at the Hoop and Toy, or maybe even vodkas at the Polish Club.

I've been on the presenter side of the fence there a couple of times.

Interesting audiences, I have to say. The food at the cafe isn't too bad, either.

Some interesting ones coming up soon.

Dreamscapes and the sleeping brain for the insomniacs and dream interpretors out there.

The England Algeria match with sports psychologists in residence for those of you who think you can manage England better than that bloke who manages you now.

And a discussion on GM foods for those of you who like an argument.

Plus cycling, Grand Prix and tackling climate change with technology.

I quite fancy the sleep institute one on 17th June.

Maybe I'll actually go to one this time.
