Still close, Poulter had a good afternoon tbf. Looked well up for it. Garcia and Jimenez totally overshadowed by Leonard and Mahan. And Mickelson and Kim seem like an ideal pairing.

As a non-golfer, can anyone explain the significance of the pairings to me. I.e. why does it matter who is paired with who?

After the battles of yesterday and the wringing of hands by Faldo at the end of the day I fear that if Yurop don't stage some kind of fightback on Saturday Faldo will have a total breakdown!!
He seems to have aged 10 yrs overnight from Thurs to Friday. God knows what he will be like on Sunday night!!!

I just hope the Yanks can control themselves and keep up the good natured feel to the event but I fear if Europe have a good Saturday it may turn a little fractious. Don't lose too well the Yanks you know...Ask Mr Laden.

I wouldn't bet against anything. I could have made a bloody fortune tonight for no risk, the odds have been fluctuating on the draw like nobody's business. They just went out to 200-1 and then cam right back in to 80-1 could have bet at 200 and laid at 90 and made money whatever the result. If I had been doing that all evening I could have paid the mortgage for a few months, will have to remember to get my arse in gear in two years time. Having said that wont be able to do it then cos I'll hopefully be there!!
