Porridge - obviously. OAH was feel good, gentle sit com - very well done but not genius - and it was brought alive more by the quality of the cast then great writing and ideas.
just watched an episode Porridge Id never seen before on UKTV gold.
Officer McKay goes away and is replaced by an even bigger bastard. Barrowclough is relegated to the prison farm becasue hes seen as 'too soft'.
The prisoners organsie a fake riot, attack officer bastard with food. Barker suggests that the only man who can quell the situation is Officer Barrowclough. Barrowclough enters the riotous lions den and jolly well tells the prisoners to clean up the mess and go back to their cells. The prisoners do exaclty that, Barrowclough and MacKay return and officer bastard is transferred.
IT was top, With some great lines which I cant remember well enough to repeat.
Can anyone think of a present day sit-com or TV prog so firmly on the side of the crims and 'low life'?
