He pretty clearly got in touch with his many media contacts and gave them a story as part of whatever bullshit he's up to right now. It could be as innocent as getting people down there to stop the eviction(s) or it could be something far more dodgy. Either way, he's playing you for a mug if you start this poor old heroic david rubbish.

OK, WAS . But now he gets the same sort of grief as them. I don't even know him and i am pretty sure he did bad things in the past. My whole point is anytime anyone questions the official establishment version of events on here, they are branded a conspiraloon, usually by people who think themselves left of centre , and it's pretty vomit inducing seeing em kiss establishment arse

He is a fucking conspiraloon - he (says that he) believes in all sorts of bullshit conspiracies, inlcuding the protocols of the elders of zion -which makes him rotten. And no, you're wrong, this board is full of people who question the establishment who aren't called conspiraloons. People can distinguish between the proper conspiraloons and others. How can you be so naive?

He did all the conspiraloon branding himself when he started blathering to the press that "9/11 was an inside job" involving swapped planes, invisible pods and holograms. And now he thinks he's Jesus, spotting spiritual messages in Castrol GTX ads.

I saw him speak at at festival a couple of years ago, and really, he is a proper full on conspiraloon. Not to say he shouldn't be allowed to say what he does, but that
what he said wasn't backed up with any reliable evidence, and the majority of what he talked about were conspiracy theories. Conspiracy obsession + lunacy = conspiraloon.

That said, I had a chat with him too, and aside from the royal family being space lizards who murdered Princess Di, he seemed like a thoroughly pleasant chap.

That's utterly shit logic trev.

I'm as anti establishment as you like on most issues, but I'm also very strongly opposed to the conspiracy theorist mindset, because patently loonspud bollocks along the lines spouted by Shayler is a total distraction from the real evils of those in power.

As 4thwrite correctly posted on Jazzz's Icke/swine flu thread (see his post on page 71 of that thread) the real effect of the maddest conspiracy theorists is to make the official line look halfway sane by comparison.

You can be anti establishment without having to be a conspiranutjob -- you don't have to swallow all this 9/11 and 7/7 'troofer' nonsense (ftrinstance) to oppose the Government.

You seem to be hinting that those who are sceptical about conspiracy theories are mindless and gullibly drinking in the Govt and establishment- media version of 'reality'

It is not 'kissing establishment arse' to distance yourself from patent bonkerssness spouted by Shayler and Icke. It's also pretty damned insulting to plenty of very perceptive and sane lefties, to say that by opposing conspiracy nonsense, they're doing that .....
 
ha ha, i didn't realise he was coming out with all that!! OK, so maybe he is a loon, but all kinds of plausable/likely theories on here get ridiculed by all quarters ie Diana. Thats what i was on about.

various cover ups in the UK press and hysterical character assassination of anyone questioning the establishment version (sounds like here!)

You do know she died because she wasn't wearing a seat belt, don't you? In fact the only survivor, her bodyguard, was the only person in the car wearing a seat belt.

Hubris is what killed her, not the establishment. I realise that it's a dull and mundane reason.

He hangs round with extremists in order to write the book. Some nazis tell him about the Bilderberg group. He thinks "what a load of bollocks" ....until he checks it out and sees loads of heads of state/newspaper proprietors, and Mandelson gather for a meeting in remote Spanish woodland.
Years later a known fraudster Mandelson who is supposedly enemy of Brown, is invited back into Govt.
The govt just sit there alienating their own supporters and watching all their voters drift off, never trying to do anything about it....

Respected journalist? Not by me - lightweight comedy hack IMO. And the fact that important and powerful people meet each is not news to me i'm afarid.
