The return of Jonathan Ross

HeLL yES:cool:-- the volley ball scene and they way he pushes his shades back up his nose is legendary and he can have a few good men and jerry macguire--but since katie he has gone all plastic and i suspect he always was;)

I think he's widely regarded as a very good actor who chooses money makers as a priority.

good point, well made! I genuinely cannot compete with this logic...

On top of that, cruise is fucking tiny. I reckon I could take him, and I'm 5' 8...

I dunno, he has that wiry energy that makes little blokes slightly intimidating. Like he'd just fucking glass you with no 'outside now' formality

In the case of Scientology that's a pretty good reason. it's a religion that's proven to be particularly damaging to some of it's members. His outburst about Brooke Shields was bang out of order too. Yes he apologised but not because he has suddenly changed his views, he just conceded he shouldn't have said it.

Very few apologies are made beyond conceding something was wrong.

personally, I kind of saw him more of the "kill you family, kill your friends, kill your friends pets, kills the friends of your friends (and their pets) and leave you alive to deal with the emotional trauma" school of sociopaths. Something kind of cold and calculating about the cruise-meister.

I thought it was quite funny when Cruise claimed he'd learned German for the role and then didn't have a clue what Stephen Fry said to him. It summed Cruise up for me.

Good comeback. Decent apology sprinkled with a bit of ribald humour and enough knowing to chastise the offended brigade without really laying into the cunts. Interesting choice of guests, too. Lee Evans was manic enough to take the focus away from Ross, followed by Fry's erudition and rumpled charm and then Cruise, the Cypher, letting Ross follow the scripted dialogue Cruise's people would allow and making Ross seem so empathetic to the deeply disturbed needy screwball that Cruise is. Welcome back Wossy.

If you put together that clip of Cruise in Tropical Thunder with his role in Magnolia, he clearly has some strange need to let out either creative juices or subvert his clean-cut image.
