If someone could send me 2 or 3 seeds I'll give it a go, but like penni we is a bit exposed for successful tall plants.
We do get quite a bit of sun though :)
I'll happily send you some;)

Ooh, nice move! :D

Shall we post pictures of our seedlings as well? You can all see the slugs in my pots if you are really lucky

Actually, on the tele this morning there was a bit about a little snail ornament that you pour beer into and then the slugs climb into it. It was only about £5.99 but looked like a good idea - if only I could remember where they said it came from......................

Something like gardengadgets.com or .... bugger its on the tip of my tongue.

I'm in!!! Just put 12 seedlings into the bigger pots yesterday with weathershield thing plastic over them.... Ooopss giving away my secrets ;)

im in

been meaning to grow some the last 2 years, even talked to me mum about it on sunday

*note to self, when around aqua's and bees place, when sick dont go out side or i may end up dead* :(

I'm beginning to think that the only hope I have of winning this comp is to buy plastic ones :(

Perhaps if we put a lot of effort into making paper sunflowers, we may get a prize cos everyone will feel sorry for us :D

I am growing Russian Giant and these.

arent they cute!

^ they are...

I may have already lost, cause the transplanted seedlings look very, very poorly. I would have thought that two days after transplanting, they would have perked up a little

OK I'm off to Austria in the morning in search of new strains of champion sunflowers.;)
When i get back i want to see seedlings, sprouts, soil recipes, performance enhancing potions and a lot more activity on this thread.:)

Keep out of my potting shed you lot:mad: :D

I'm in!
Had me seeds in pots on the windowsill for a few weeks now - waiting for the Mid april to plant them out i think...

Not long got back from Austria but arrived home to find previously purchased collection of award winning seeds on doorstep.:D

I'm planning to share some of these out so watch this space.
Geminisnake if you pm me your addy you can have first dibs;)

Great to see this thread on page one on my return too:cool:

I'm potting tomorrow after I've recovered from my off piste shenanigans:o

Seedlings broke the surface over the weekend - lifted the lid off of the propogator and are threatening the asbestos sheet roof with their rapid growth. :D

Mine are already 4 inches high, I slung a handful of seeds into a ot last week and they have pushed their way up with such force that they pushed some of the soil out of the pot.

i planted mine the other day,

does it help to talk to them?

does it help to play loud thrash metal to them?

does it help to water them?

does the sun help?

ive put some out side and some in side to see which start the first

Water sunshine and Slayer is a good combo:D

Aaargh!

Something got to my sunflower seedlings in the night and dug them out of their pots

I've tried to straighten them out and put them back in the pots but I think I may have to start again :(
