after last night, i'd be tempted to say JSBX.. but the Bad Seeds have had a place in my heart longer.. and i've worked with Gallon Drunk so i'm partisan there. and the Make Up are fucking incredible.

I voted Childish for utter coolness and single minded riff hammering, also coz I haven't heard a few of the others. He inspired half of that Crypt records garage punk revival from the 80s 90s I reckon too with thee Mighty Caesars, and I'm surprised the Gories didn't get a cheeky lok in for that reason. Them, the Devil Dogs, Nine Pound Hammer, Lazy Cowgirls, you know there was a lot of soul around then...

Missed Soledad Bros a while back in Strasbourg coz I was just sitting about stoned in the flat and couldn't make up my mind whether to go or not. I hadn't really heard much about them. WHAT A TWAT

I think its fair to say that they've pushed the boundaries of the psychobilly genre as far as it possible to go, and considerably further than is strictly advisable.

I love The Cramps, Billy Childish, Soledad Brothers and I'm even partial to a bit of Eighties Matchbox, but for me it's got to be the Blues Explosion who are quite simply the best band on the planet
