other games which were originally announced as PS3 exclusives are now also arriving on the 360 - GTA, Devil May Cry 4, Assassins Creed.....

In fact, pretty much all of the games that would have made me consider buying one are now multi-platform.

As I am not ready to commit to either HD-DVD or Bluray ( and as a 360 owner, HD would make more sense) I can see no reason for me investing a PS3 in the immediate future.

I reckon my Wii and 360 will ensure that between them, I can play 95% of all "AAA" titles released on any platform over the next 18 months at least.

At the moment it's just not commercially viable for your Konamis, Segas and Capcoms to develop a major game for a single format. But in time as the PS3 userbase expands and Sony gets a bigger stronghold on the market there will be more and more PS3 exclusives from said companies.

And VF3 is presently an exclusive. I'm sure that Sega could bring the game to Xbox 360 earlier than they will do, but that they are tied into some kind of agreement with Sony not to do so.

So, ner!

Thanks for the invite!:) Although I think that'll be the only way I'll play one, never bothered with the PS2 (despite being an owner of three PSOnes and having many good gaming nights on that machine) and very much doubt I'll get a PS3. I like the look of the new Xbox 360 Elite, might get that and a Wii in time...

Maybe.........

I reckon though, with the spiralling costs of making modern games, console manufacturers will lose the ability to coerce/bully developers into exclusive deals.
In order to recoup their costs, the game-makers will have to push their products to as many people as possible, and that means targeting multiple platforms - especially now that Microsoft have increased their share of the market.

we are also gettign a wii i have to spend this month or pay tax on the profit... so this is investing in hardware and if anyone asks you are an employ testing that hardware ok :D

I think you'd have to be nuts to get a ps3 on laucnh day and not at least 6 months later. Even now the 360 has the worst selection of games for a console yet. You'd be better off with a ps2 imo; they outsell even the 360 (and the ps3 right now). Who gives a fuck about hi def shit? Not me, i can't afford it anyway!
 
did they get a free taxi as well to take th damn thing back to the parking lot, oh and a security detail to keep the muggers at bay!

I just can't see the point right now. £425! I can get a ps12 for a tenth of that and i would probably enjoy it more.

Maybe at christmas when the price wars begin, but even then the 360 was a disappointment (ie the games are unadulterated balls). It seems to me that the more powerful the console, the worse the games!

The major attraction for me is the Blue-Ray DVD player... But unless you have a HD TV, its a bit pointless

besides in our inherently patriarchal society father fucking and the debasement of the masculine figure is considered worse than the debasement of the maternail or femanine figure. which heights the offence in peoples eyes to. so it rebalances the whole argument...

I succumbed on the way home, I am soo weak :/

I got it with Ridge Racer, extra controller and a HDMI Cable.

RR7 looks amazing, wickedly fast too. I haven't hooked it up to the net yet :D

Judging by that article it's not a bad release... i mean at this time of year you expect poor sales, but it's just outstripping the 360's initial sales (which was a Christmas release) and the PS2s initial sales. Not a bad achievement considering the price and the time of year. I doubt I'll buy one for a while, if at all (depends what games are released) though... Still, if they get some good titles for Christmas and drop the price I would be tempted. Silly buying any console on release anyway, always bugs.
 
Meh.....

By the time the price has come down it will be well behind PC games......


I'd rather spend my money on a PC build with games that can be moded, and all the other stuff my PC can do;)

If you've got the money for a new toy that will be out dated pretty soon go for it:p :D

I reckon they'll get trounced at Christmas by the dual shock (pun intended) of a 360 price drop and Halo 3...
 
went to bristle today and the ps3 doesn't seem to be flying off the shelves as the 360 did. in fact there was little in the way of promotion and demo stuff happening. You'd be forgiven for thinking nothing was happening!
 
Being able to download demos on it is quite cool, try before you buy which I don't think any other console has done?

Every game I have downloaded so far has been pretty damn impressive.

Not gonna let it detract from my Wii golf handicap though :D
 
I decided to swap my laptop with a 360 rather than aWii, perhaps foolish on games alone, but I like the media center capabilities.

yep. You can also enjoy the ability to pay to unlock stuff that's already on the disc you paid for already.

Just another way for M$ to show their love.

im sure the ps3 will go the same way.
