You're incredibly weird. Peter Cook? Billy Crystal? A Giant? Sports? Perfect Breasts? Peter Falk? Fred bleeding Savage.

The film is entertaining but it's not as amazing as people try to make out. It has some good moments and some quotable lines but it has a lot of flaws.

Also, the book is way better

I just went and re-read the plot synopsis on wiki, just to make sure it was as crap as I thought it was. It. Is. Fucking. PONY.

Yeah, but I think they did the best they could do at the time without busting Ray Harryhausen out of his retirement home, effects-wise, and to be fair I liked most of the casting decisions.

The book is terrific, but it's also a good film I think; rough round the edges in a lot of ways but there's quite enough to it to make it worth watching repeatedly.

It also has some terrific stage fencing of the old school.
