The Prince, Woolies, Iceland to be demolished?

There were 2 proposed routes for the tram from Oval to Brixton - anyone know if it is decided yet? I still have all the brochures they sent out about it, but they are from a while ago now.
One was the direct route via Brixton Road, the other was via Stockwell, then down Stockwell Road to Brixton.
Then in Brixton itself there are also 2 proposals - one to go down Effra road and round the one way system, the other to go down Canterbury Crescent and terminate on Popes Road.

I was talking to some Crossriver Tram PR people the other day. They said that as far as the two route choices were concerned (Kennington Road vs Kennington Park Road and Brixton Road vs Clapham Road/Stockwell Road) that the consultation revealed evenly split opinion - not strong if enough in any direction to be conclusive. They are instead going to work on technical feasability and detailed route plans with tram stops and road layouts on them are being worked on at the moment.

They didn't know anything about the southern end question of Effra Road or Pope's Road, and they were vague about timescales too - "later this year".

When's our fucking fountain coming back too?

That reminds me I put a query into planning about whether the Council should have put in a planning application in for the works done on the Tate Gdns-including removal of fountain.

After getting no reply I phoned the planning officer dealing with my query. He first asked me why I put in the query.I said that I had the right to query works. It was a planning issue and all I wanted was to get a ruling whether planning application was needed. He said that he had talked to the senior officer in charge and had been told that people had been "consulted" about it and the works didnt need planning approval as it was "moving street furniture".I said the works were more than moving street furniture.I asked him to put that it writing if that was the case.Which he prevaricated on-ie no I wont but I wont say I wont put it into writing.

From this I surmised that:

1) He had talked to the senior planning officer who regarded me as a trouble maker.
2)The works were approved by senior officers without meaningful consultation.
2)That the removal of fountain and associated waorks did need planning application-which is a form of consultation IMO.

I didnt follow it up at the time as I had a lot on.Also I cant always afford to piss off officers as i sometimes represent other people.

The "Visioning Framework" for Future Brixton - a rather grand title for the consultation draft of the Masterplan - was originally to have been published at the end of January.

It doesn't appear to be on the Future Brixton website, nor is the Questionnaire which was supposed to follow the structure of the "Visioning Framework".

Has it been pulled?

I did hear that the full cabinet only got a presentation for the first time a few weeks ago on what Councillor McGlone and the Future Lambeth officers in regeneration had been allowing the consultant architects to come up with as proposals?

So its not just me then.I got an email on the 5th feb about various consultation meetings from next week(which isnt a lot of notice). So what could happen is plans are drawn up and then the job of Future brxtion officers is to persuade people they are the best idea (rather than consult).
