Fuck Buttons are absolutely awesome live. Post-rock-rave-up when I saw them in May. phwoar.
65days are ok, but can get a bit too sludgy. Fun live though!
I've not heard Mogwai's latest album, is it any good? I heard rumblings that it wasn't all that. They've been properly awesome when I've seen them live.

yep, Fuck Buttons are great live

i recently heard they're talking about changing their name.

wonder why.

I like Mogwai's attitude best. GYBE are a bit po-faced. Musically, however, they are clearly the dobermann's danglers.

Can we include Isis, Battle of Mice, Red Sparrowes in POst Rock? Or they Post Metal?

What about more structured stuff which still has a bit of a Post Rock feel, like Whisper in the Noise (Fantastic band IMVHO)?

I love the way that 3 years later GYBE, who are now defunct (apparently, at any rate) are finally in first place.
Isis, Pelican, all that stuff isn't post rock it's more kind of avant metal/doom/post-metal/hurts-your-neck-to-nod-along-core

Yeah, that's probably it. I want to but my aesthetics just go into a proper sulk whenever I mention their name.

i'm not sure if polvo are post rock.

low are slowcore ;)

65 days of static are awful. horrible to tour with by all accounts too.

slint are the daddies of post rock.

i also prefer the sea and cake to tortoise.

mogwai are bloody dull nowadays.

oh, and i'm with ianw on gybe. i saw them on the same tour as him (supported by sigur ros, who were immense) and they bored me to tears.
