Dizzy Gillespie used to call Charlie Parker (or maybe it was the other way round, danny la rouge can probably confirm) 'the other half of my heartbeat' to describe the musical chemistry they had onstage, and the almost psychic locked-in musical interplay they had going on. I love it when you can hear this in a performance, and thought a thread for that kind of thing would be nice. Here is Oscar Peterson (piano) with Joe Pass (guitar) - you can pretty much listen to any recording of them together and get lost Richard Thompson (guitar) and Dave Swarbrick's (violin) extended duet in the second half of this is mindblowing here is bird and diz more later when I think of 'em
srs tho, Mulligan & Baker. This one is gorgeous (listen for the vocals low in the mix toward the end too)
