The Official Election Results Thread

While the BNP might have toned it down on certain levels their website still sounds totally nutty in places like:

We aim to support indigenous British students in their struggle against the anti-white racism of the Labour Party, Marxist unions and various other manifestations of left-wing bigotry. We intend to provide HOPE for indigenous students - who are rapidly becoming a minority in their own land.

Barnsley finishes with 10 BIG, 8 Labour, 2 tories, 1 lib-dem & 1 more independent. Some strong BNP showings tho.

Overall, beeb reports BNP vote falling tho

Sadly not. Recent BBC coverage and other stuff had given them a bit of a boost.

4 seats so far, some alarmingly high near misses. More seats in their strong areas still to be declared. It may be that the high turn out in London has undermined the BNP showing there but overall this is meltdown for Labour, a great night for the Tories and a good night for the fascists.

That is what they are still reporting tho.

I'm not convinced it is a labour 'meltdown' either - significant drops in many places, but only small ones in the 'northern heartlands' generally. tho the big councils aren't decalring til tomorrow, the wusses.

5 bnp councillors now and rising.

Worst results for LP for atleast 35 years.

where are t'others?

& the last poll thing said it wasn't as bad as 2004 - yet!

BBC reporting 4 but are only reporting from councils where the full result is known. I am hearing of 3 others as well as a fucking close near thing.

Sometimes the BNP claim seats so they can cry foul after, but I think it is 8 so far with some of their strong wards still to be declared.

Sorry. In addition to the BBC 6 there are 2 seats in Rotherham and two (so far) in Thurrock with more of their styrong wards to be declared.

IWCA lose 2 seats in Oxford. Greens lose 1. Labour gain 4. Lib Dems gain 1. Tories lose both seats.

Going to bed.

Matt

Labour is fucked across the UK.

Plaid making progress in Wales (net gain of 5 so far) but a few hiccups. No idea what's going on til tomorrow really. Tories are also making gains in Wales and so are the Lib Dems.

Labour-Plaid-Independents lost Vale of Glam to Tories. Tories retained Monmouth. Labour lost Merthyr & Blaenau Gwent too. Lib Dems made some impressive gains in Merthyr, People's Voice (independent socialists) made gains in Blaenau Gwent. Ceredigion NOC, Plaid largest party.
Gwynedd looks like Plaid are down 2 so far to the alternative nationalist group Llais Gwynedd.

Plaid gone up to 7 seats in Cardiff from 4 previously. Looks like Lib Dems increased their hold on Cardiff and held on in Swansea.

Plaid set to make gains in Caerphilly and RCT, but no idea yet.

To be honest the Lib Dems have made the most gains in Wales, followed by the Tories and then by Plaid.

BNP nowhere near winning anywhere in Wales at the moment. Fingers crossed.

Certainly been a disastrous night for Labour. This will only increase the shakiness of Brown's position, although I don't see any credible challenger as yet.

The BNP had a handful of candidates in Swansea and all of them beat the Tories, and some of them beat Plaid too, but didn't get in.

in thurrock bnp lost votes in every seat apart from one they won ...

interesting and may point way for london vote

overall bnp appear to have been squeezed by increase in tory vote??
