The Official "Can Murray Win Wimbledon?" Thread

I'd argue that the ones who carry on like twats are just more obvious than the ones who don't as they're, well, carrying on like twats.

Paul Scholes, the later edition of Jason Robinson, it's such a shame that they don't get the profile they deserve.
Jonny Wilkinson is another likeable down to earth sportsperson, coulda been a huge Beckham- type superstar after the 2003 Rugby World cup but was'nt interested.

Agreed, although to be honest any time I've heard Beckham speak he comes across as a thoroughly nice guy - living in a bit of a madhouse fishbowl at times - but still kind of decent. Scholes is a given and also Ryan Giggs - announced his marriage in the Times and that was that.

If you ignore all the bollox surrounding Beckham he dos come across as a nice bloke, agree about Giggs and Scholes as well.

Yeah TBH I think the star factor side of Beckham just came from marrying Posh. I'm pretty sure that if he hadn't, he'd be similar to scholes and so on...

Dont get this Murray isnt a nice bloke stuff. We Scots love him :D. He just come across as a seriously determined sportsman, who happens to be bloody good at what he does.
Federer used to act like a spolit brat when he was younger but changed, some might say grew up. Even he will admit that.
Part of the problem is because until Henman/Rusedski came along we were all Borg, McEnroe, Connors, Lendl(me anyway), Becker fans. Britain had noone to cheer for so we got out of the habit.

He's a choker

Talking out of your arse, he's never bottled a match, he's famous for not doing that.

Probably best if you leave the sport forum ya daft cunt.

Anyway, I'd be surprised if Federer didn't win this. Reckon Murray will make the semi's at least.

Nah, not gonna happen
He could and might well choke (it's happened often enough on Grand Slam tournaments) but he has to be the best player left at the tournament after Federer, and the most likely man on his half of the draw to reach the final. He's also proven once he can reach a Major final without choking (US Open).

He could have a bad day at the office and go out early of course- but that is true of everyone.
