the new simpsons, family guy and south park are all shite

Major Boobage

Top episode. The use of Heavy Metal was pure fucking genius (I saw the original when I was much younger with one of my mum's mates - may Ma walked in and saw this pair of cartoon boobs and rushed me out of the room!), and the ep was hysterical.

Family Guy is wicked.

But the other day, at my mate's stag do, I'd done some meph and rather stupidly told my mate's older, fatter brother that he resembled the dad. He did not look best pleased!

Another vote for Family Guy. It took me a while to get into it, but when I did the random diversions stopped being annoying and become part of its charm.

And Family Guy is one of the very few cartoons that can do feature-length specials that are good. Because sure as fuck, both the Simpsons and Futurama efforts have been rather shite.

(The other exception is South Park, which made what arguably is the funniest feature-length cartoon of all time).

I've just watched the new SP (The Ring) and it was shite. But all the murcans seem to like it. Baffling. There wasn't even one laugh. What's wrong with them?

I thought the ring was great - alongside the heavy-handed exposition (which presumably is because they're writing for thick-as-shit US audiences who needed the whole thing explaining to them) there was some truly great satire - Mickey's aside about Eisner, for example.

Simpson's has been dying for ages now - it's what, 17, 18 years old now? That's a long, long time for a 26 episodes per season show to stay funny, let alone original/fresh.

The Simpsons has been going for 20 years now. It began in Sept 89 and is nearly finished running it's 20th season. It's been going downhill for a very long time. The first really shitty episodes started about 7 seasons in, but most of them were still funny so it wasn't too obvious. But in the last 7 or 8 years it just stopped being funny at all.

I heard a good suggestion recently that they could revitalise the whole series if the next season started with the Simpsons jumped forward in age by 20 years. They'd be the age that they should have been if they had aged 1 year each season, so Bart would be 30, Lisa 28 and Maggie 21/22. It would be a whole new show and that way the writers could start completely afresh.

That would be awesome:cool:

you could start it with the funeral of Grandpa which re-unites the scattered family. Comedy would then ensue.

Scott Tenerman must die, is a fucking great episode

No, it's the best episode.

Along with whatever episode it was later that season where someone said "Dude, don't piss Cartman off or he'll kill your parents and feed them to you."
