The most pleasing purchase of the year?

It was a humourous allusion to a long running thread from a few years back when there was a masive row about sonmeone wasting £80 on the exact same bin. Sounded really funny in my head last night.

If it's any consolation, I got it and laughed softly

I did too, but it was a very quiet laugh. More of a good tempered eyebrow raise really.

I reckon Miss Fran's been deliberately misinformed on the price of her bin btw, to spare further bin based 'how much?' discussion.
:hmm:

I got it :p and didn't you kick Geri's bin and break it? :hmm:

Mine would be my my bed ensemble, me and the boyfriend never want to get out of bed and when you get in it's like heaven  Cost about 700 quid though for the matress and topper and pillows.:(

My washing machine. I'd been months without one, and hadn't realised how much hassle it had all been getting. It's a basic Bosch for just under £300, very very easy to use and virtually silent even on high spin. I love it.

Geri, btw you need to have wireless connection to use those internet radios, I can't have one :(

Gorgeous second hand ash sideboard seen in a shop in Holloway...enormous, eight draws including 2 great big ones at the bottom. Very slightly battered but lovely boxy dovetail joint drawers...haggled from £250 to £180 including delivery.

*blows kiss at sideboard* Love it.

My guitar amp was pretty cool. But I've managed to break it now :o

I have yet to work out how I've wasted so much money on crap, considering the lack of major purchases since I've started working.

In that case, I apologise unreservedly.
And yeah miss fran, someone's either telling you fibs or got a massive bargain :hmm:

As Mation will testify, I am not normally impressed by stuff, but when our amp broke and we needed another, I didn't need much persuading to get a valve amp and ipod player like this one:

It hasn't arrived yet but yesterday I ordered a hand lens with a 20x magnification. I have always loved my 10x magnification hand lens that my grandfather had as a boy but this will open new worlds!

Great for invertebrate/mycological inspection.....

It's been a pretty big year for purchases.

The following all stand out:

Jeff the kitten
Our first house
Wicked 37" HD TV
Dishwasher
Gas barbecue

Our orthopedic pocket sprung memory foam mattress complete with whopping discount and 10 year guarentee... after 20 years sleeping on shite beds it is bliss :)

A close second would be our 42" plasma hdtv

Those are objects of wonder and beauty. Link please!

Cost us £200 from our local dealer. The sound quality is very good. It can go loud enough for us but isn't massively powerful. They do do more powerful ones but they're much more expensive. You can spend thousands on one if you want.

The brightness of the lights on the valves changes with the level of the music - most noticeably with classical music.

Our bed, it's a kingsized lump of solid oak topped with a memory foam pocket sprung mattress. I never want to get out of bed.

Cheers Cloo, can't believe what a pleasure it is to cook with a nice new cooker.

Yesterday we made cream of asparagus soup, parmesan and sun dried tomato bread and fairy cakes. The littlun seemed to like the cakes best :D
