The most boring film you've ever seen

Synecdoche, New York.

And last night I wacthed terminator Salvation and had to turn it off with 30 mins to go as it was too dull to bother with any more

I know! What happened to cute cheeky chappy JD? He seems to have turned into a self obsessed miserable patronising cunt.

Oh and KOOK OFF Natalie POrtman.

Loved that film, too.

I guess we're not going to have much luck starting a cinema club? ;)

Anybody like Little Miss Sunshine or Juno?

possibly godfather part 3.

Possibly requiem for a zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Actually the postman. thats really long and really boring and really shite.

"Institute Benjamenta, or This Dream People Call Human Life"
Directed by identical twins who usually make stop-motion animation

I really fucking hated Naked

loads of folk i know think it's wonderful.

Horrible film, I thought.

It embarrasses me that people like that are consnidered the apex of UK cinema. Quite frankly if someone American is looking through my DVD collection and they note the rather sexy pic on the DVD (bought a pirate of it in China), I always say, nah that's shit, move along...

This question only needs to be asked because people haven't seen, and this thread ony exists for, for a tru abomination of a film called The Last Kiss. It's got the guy from scrubs in and Casey Affleck. It's like a romance but with the speed and dynamism of Lost In Translation but without any remotely memorable performance from the cast and the sort of character development that makes Lyn behind the bar at the Queen Vic look extensive.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0434139/

Not one, but 2 ex girlfriends, the second one in freakishly similar fashion to the first (which made it all the worse), both advised me they hadn't seen it before, but got good reviews, and got this out on Lovefilm/from blockbuster. And I've had to endure the whole thing. Twice.

I'll also stick my neck out and nominate everything Will Ferrel has done other than 3 (at most) scenes in High School(?) and a cameo he does in a film that I can't name or else it'll ruin the cameo (which is, arguably and in fairness, his finest hour).

anything (straight to dvd) Steven seagal ,dolph lundgren or van Damme has done in the last 10 years

Eagle vs shark.

The funniest thing about it is the swathes of people who bought it thinking it would be any kind of comedy resemblance to FotC, only to get home and face the stunnign disappointment :D

O yeah I remember hearing about that one. I think in his review Jonathan Ross said it was one of the worst films he'd ever seen.

By high school do you mean old school.

Old School is a great film and Will Ferrell is a master of his genre. He's done a full hour long show in character as George Bush recently and Land of the Lost - his new one - is very funny. Step Brothers was a return to Anchorman and Talledega heights as well so that critique is completely rejected, striker, although Eage Vs Shark is indeed awful.

it's way better than conchords - funnier at least

I'm never too keen on self-consciously arty films, personally. You know the sort, where everything is done in a deliberately 'film school' manner when a simple explanation of the plot would not only be easier to follow but would make such dross actually watchable. Dogme films, for example, what the fuck are they all about?

I'm also not too fond of the 'gorefest' line of films that seem to have become a big thing of late. I don't mind sex, violence, swearing and blasphemy as long as they are in some way relevent to the plot, but piling up a bodycount that would rival the Battle of Gettysburg for seemingly no reason at all is pretty tedious and dull, IMHO.

If I want violent films that are done with a degree of artistic merit then I'll watch either a Sam Peckinpah or Sergio Leone film, thanks.

We saw the trailer with the "Ok, justin, thanks for your call" thinking it was the next Dumb and Dumber/Police Squad/Airp... (no, not that good ;) ) only to find it was literally the singularly good gag in the whole film. By a long shot.

(I also don't rate FotC (in fact pretty much hate it aside from (some of!) the songs) though appreciate others do)

Ok, slight exaggeration (and Anchorman is ok) to compensate for my hatred for the twats across the nation sipping WKD and shouting "2 tickets to the gun show":mad:

I think I probably love Will Ferrell more than my brother. And my brother has never really done anything wrong, either.

oi ken

i saw a trailer for Will Ferrell with Grill wassisface - the one who does dangerous things outdoors with animals and stuff.

anyway, they were doing dangerous things outdoors together.

He's not all bad I suppose, just one of those things where I hate his followers (tho not you of course ;) ).

He does do a lot of absurdly dull and predictable shit though.

See there's more comedy in his cameo in the-film-I-won't mention (clue: MA...The Meatloaf??!) than in the whole of Talledega Nights IMO, tho I can entirely understand people will look at them as the same stuff.

loads of folk i know think it's wonderful.

Soon after Naked came out, I was living in a bedsit with a bloke I'd just moved to London with from Up North, neither of us had money or jobs so we didn't go out much & he watched Naked over & over again on video, quoting lines at me .

I watched it again recently & its not that bad :D very of its time though.
(It put me off Mike Leigh films for years though, till I realised they weren't all like that).

Husband has tried to make me appreciate Once Upon A Time in the West three times now. I have fallen asleep every single time.

It's just those long, long shots of dusty plains...close up of scowling flyblown face...dusty plains...dusty plains...shot of man sitting on dusty plains...mmmm, sofa is lovely and comfy...
