The Most Amazing Biscuit Thread

I'm there on the choco leibnitz.

And also I like those thin french biscuits with almond pieces on them. And those sable biscuits from Brittany. And ginger biscuits. And almond biscuits. And lemon shortbread.

Yeah, I call them Choco Lesbian, I love those.

Speaking of French biscuits - my favourites include Lu Thé, Pimms, Barquettes (apricot), Pailles D'or, Pimms....mmmmh!! I have the last two at home cos my mum brought some back from France recently..

Choc lesbian - I like

Ooh pimms are good but I don't like those barquettes - I don't like biscuit/jam combos

Ok, I'm going to have to get a pack of Choco Leibniz now... maybe I'll sit in and eat them all tonight :D

I really can't decide on a favourite, I do like chocolate digestives, but then after too many you can start to taste the salt in them; gingernuts are lovely, I like most things ginger; viennese whirls are lush too; shortbread is nice to dunk in coffee/tea… far too many biscuits to choose from!

Made some chunky choc chip cookies the other day… main ingredient was butter – they were nice :)

McVities Chocolate Caramel digestives are yummalicious but you can't eat too many.

Although me and my work mates did when I was working at Old Street, to pass the time like :D

The Tunnocks Caramel Wafer:

Possibly the only thing better is the Tunnocks Caramel Log but it has been difficult to get a proper one here for a long time now. :(

Now you're talking.

Tunnocks are good for the special occasion. For general stuffing your face with a cup of tea you can't beat a ginger nut or custard cream.

Awwww, biscuits are one thing I really miss about blighty.

Here they're dry, flavourless, overpriced (£1.60 for a small pack of digestives!) and with a very poor selection.

I don't know how people cant be biscuit people. Biscuits are the food of the gods!!!

I could eat your humble chocolate hobnob all day every day. yum yum yum... i also like caramel digestives.

other fav's must be tunnocks caramel wafers/logs and those fox's chocolate classics. they are devine! I can eat a whole packet in one sitting. This is why I cannot allow myself to ever buy biscuits or have them in the house. I've just about weaned myself off them and now there's this thread :(

I'm a convert to american-style cookies. Preferably double chocolate. They make most of our native biscuits look pretty poor I reckon.

I used to love the Plain Chocolate Caramel Digestives, but I haven't seen them for ages :(

Plain chocolate Tunnocks wafers (blue wrappers not red) were a happy discovery though :) .

Are they the soft chewy ones?

I *love* white chocolate soft chewy cookies. Mmhhh

Yes!
The Choco Liebniz! [dark chocolate version only though]
Magnificent, a proper chunk of chocolate with a piece of not bad biscuit attached.
That's what it's all about.

Otherwise, plain chocolate digestives are still pretty awesome.
And the cookies i make, but they're not eligible are they? (well, not until I start to make a fortune undercutting Millie's :D)

Not forgetting the mighty Bahlsen Hit...

Voted 'Biscuit of the Week' at Nice cup of tea and a sit down (surely one the best domain names eva?)

In fact, Bahlsen full stop. Also really good, buttery shortbread - particuarly the stuff with brown sugar round the outside. And those Viennese things SZC likes. Oh, and down here in Devon land lots of places stock these HUGE, crumbly gorgeous fudgy biscuits that come in lovely flavours like cinnamon, treacle, ginger - you only get 6 to a packet but each is about 3 times the size of a normal biscuit - gawd knows who they're made by but they come highly recommended!

And has nobody mentioned Viennese Whirls yet - straddling the great divide twixt 'cake' and 'biscuit' with more conviction than a Jaffa Cake ever could...

Will type it up when I get home ;)

(basically it's butter, sugar, self raising flour and chunky chocolate pieces)

No way, it needs to be milk chocolate!

Sorry, I must take issue there and insist the Choc Lesbian needs to be dark chocolate.

Although, frankly, I'd just as easily eat a whole packet of the milk chocolate variety in one sitting :)

Me and Pika made normal cookies like that...but they weren't soft and cheeeeewy....

My last batch weren't because it's a new oven and I've not got used to it yet... but they normally are :)

Lets be clear, I'd never pass up a choco lesbian whether it was milk or dark but if push came to shove and I had to choose, milky lesbos would win every time.
