I've got cold toes - its getting to be colder and i refuse to spend another winter in a flat with no carpet and no suitable toe-warming-device.

i'm loathe to use the word slippers *shudder* but there must be something out there?

any ideas how to keep my toes warm?

and before you all rush off to google i have finally accepted after several years of anguish that nobody makes puffer fish shaped footwear :(

wiskers

The more it SNOWS tiddely-pom
The more it GOES tiddely-pom
The more it GOES tiddely-pom
On snowing
On snowing

And nobody KNOWS tiddely-pom
How cold my TOES tiddely-pom
How cold my TOES tiddely-pom

ladys tights under your trousers, and replace the steel toe capped boots with iron fileing capped ones ( they sell iron fileing stuff in motorbike shops)

Google ugg boot and take a peek at one of the best feet/leg warmers going around.sort of soft flying boot but woolier

I know the things you mean - they look like outdoor boots but they are really slippers?

They sell them in Debenhams.

I've heard it's gonna be a harsh winter so I'm going down this route and given that you've got no carpet and you don't like slippers I think you could do a lot worse than joining me in my choice of winter foot wear :)

you need to know something

ugg boots and wiskers should never ever be used in the same sentance ;)

I didn't manage to get Hoggs socks, the shop that sells them has a quaint tradition of shutting at 12 on a Saturday
I did, however, manage to get some Buckler socks, which are 75% wool, which I think is the same as the Hoggs :)

No and not yet. I DO have fabric paint though, do I have enough time and patience more importantly?? :)

Would I have suggested them were they not soft, warm and snuggly?? :p

Would I have many pairs of them for myself if they were not the above??

No, they're no made fae coos!!

i am without doubt the most luckiest wiskers ever :D

AND they've got purple puffer fish on them!!!!!!

:D:D  :)

right so - almost a year on exactly and i'm back to the cold toes situation :o

obviously all the suggestions earlier in the thread still apply (apart from redsnappers) but i'm still slipperless.

gemini did indeed make me the bestest puffer fish socks ever but i wore them lots whilst i was recouperating and they have sort of lost their shape.

and whats more is that now we live in a house with no carpet downstairs and a tiled kitchen floor! (however it does have a 'plinth heater' which puffs out hot air over yer toes as you make coffee).

any ideas?

Slippers are great. I looked forward for years to becoming the sort of age where I could get away with wearing them again. Now all I need is a stick.

Blankies ROCK

i've got a blanket for when i sit at the computer. but i want something to walk around in.

socks arent very practical as i'm not too good on the stairs and i need grippyness.

yes - find me them in size 9 and i'll get em :D

(you wont btw)

I don't think size matters much with that type of footwear tbh. I've had big animal slippers that have been worn by feet ranging from 7 to 14...

I've also got big feet, but I found some nice slippers in muji for about £6 iirc. They are quite plain - they're made out of grey and black stripey tshirt type material. I seem to remember they had some camoflague print ones as well, if that's your sort of thing.
