The morality of fare dodging?

I don't feel bad about it at all because I think TFL is shite.I can barely sit on the 176 home from town without some nut job trying to pick a fight for no reason or someone starting some form of trouble.And im a student so that's my excuse.

It's not TFL that's the probnlem in that scenario - it's the fucking passengers - that's my one grouse about public transport, you can't pick the wankstain you have to travel with. My other half and I have a standing joke on the few times we have had to use public transort - we think there should be two buses runnung together, one for the low life, smellies, drunks, etc and another one for the more civilised members of society.

Ye gads - travelling with the public!?!?! The unimaginable horror of it all. How do the plebs do it eh?

If you're a student then the following people know where you live:

* Your college/uni
* Electricity Board
* Gas Board
* Community Charge
* Your parents
* Your friends
* Telephone company
* Internet provider (if different from above) (And by extension, any web site who feels like asking your ISP)
* Your bank
* Store cards
* Random companies that will send you junk mail

:rolleyes:

I don't have a bank and I don't like store cards because I never use them.
I don't pay for my electricity or gas,my landlord does.Community charge doesn't concern me either.
This isn't my computer.
I don't really get junk mail either.
My parents and friends aren't going to try and arrest me for fare dogging now are they?

At the end of the day I don't like the idea of oyster because i don't see why it needs to be so personally linked to me and my details.

If I lose it,which I always do my tickets,I don't want to worry about someone finding it and using the money i've just put on it.You can't do that with travel cards and i really am bad with losing stuff.

I don't understand why I should fill in all my details to sit on a fat random database with my email address,my home address and all my contact numbers just to travel around London on the cheap and quick.It's just accesable irrelevant information and id just prefer it not be there if possible.

And the twice that I have borrowed someone elses oyster card to travel home at night,ill get to like Ealing station and because it's whatever and becuase the barriers are open you can't touch out with your oyster.You get fined the full amount of your journey,which is a joke.

Id much rather keep faking my bus passes thanks :p

And re the nutters,no it's not TFL's fault,but it's still a pain in the ass having some fucker punking up at the back of the bus and having to ride 55 minutes back home from town with that on the bus.Pretty much every weekend.

The oyster pads work even when the barriers are left open.

Well they have never worked with me super late at night,when the barriers are open and they are shutting the station.The ones at East Acton don't work after 11 ish for sure.It's happened three times to my gf there.

In that case you should complain / ask TfL what you are supposed to do because the whole Oyster charging system relies on swiping in and out (hence their massive advertising campaign to that effect) to get the charging right - otherwise it just charges the worst possible scenario based on the data it has (i.e. where else it was swiped that day) which would normally be more expensive than the actual fare.

ETA: Here is their guide: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/fares-tic...ube ticket office later or ring the helpline.

Its 6 for me to get from Angel islington to the safeways in Holloway road
It would be less than a pound in petrol if a had a car
Don't drive its good for London but bad for your pocket

Just out of interest, what route?
You can get the 43 there and back for maximum £1.50 each way. (that's not even factoring in day passes)

But it doesn't have to be registered at all.
