I'd have put Cotto at 3 in the p4p stakes if he won that, but it doesn't automatically put Margarito in there.

I'm gonna watch that fight straight away again, no way am I going back to bed.

who's the cunt that does the Sultana punditry by the way? I always watch the big foghts on Setanta because I'm invariably drunk and not wanting to go to bed, and evry time I see that guy* I just think 'Kelvin McKenzie'. No idea why I thknk that, but he really is a twat.

* i don't think I actually ever see hime. The assault on my auditory senses blinds me.

Dunno, I streamed it. Is it Steve Bunce by any chance?

I hate Sultana for fights.

I hate Sultana for fights.

That's the bastard!!!

I actually quite like setanta for the boxing 'cause they just broadcast the stream from whoever is showing it. (That made sense in my head.) and there are no adverts.

The pre- and post-fight stuff is guff though.

Aye, he's full of shit alright, he makes loads of mistakes too, I do find him funny at times tho'.

I'm watching the fight again with the sound off, totally amazing fight.

Both fighters come out of this with massive respect. Cotto was great in parts but just wilted under Margarito's constant onslaught.

Not only was Man of Steel Margarito never hurt, he never even stepped back. Even when his head was getting snapped around he would just reset and keep coming forward.

Unbelievable. Nothing beats big time boxing imo.

Must watch this fight,my Brother just phoned me and said it was the best fight hes ever seen

It's good handy1, fight of the year definitely, but don't think it's gonna be the best you've ever seen ;)

Seeing Cotto dismantled tho' is interesting, he's stil la legend imo, Margarito just has his ticket.

It'd be very interesting to see what Mayweather would do.

I'd like to see Margarito in a Williams rematch now actually cos they've both improved from the 1st fight.

Non stop pressure from Margarito but Cotto is moving like a dream, the last few seconds of that round he just took the piss with ths hands by his side bobbing & weaving.
This is what me talk 'bout

Sweet at the time, but obviously not sweet enough.

I work for Setanta Sports, it's a great service and you'll really enjoy everything we have to offer. Har har har!

yep hattons finished now , his life style has caught up with him .

It wouldn't make any difference even if Hatton was at his absolute best. Margarito is much too big for him.

Williams showed that a tall boxer, with good skills, fighting at range can beat Margarito. Floyd, who is a bit bigger than Hatton but still a lot smaller than Margarito, I suspect would beat him by a wide UD. Hatton doesn't have the size to use Williams' game plan and he doesn't have the speed, defence and silky skills to do what Floyd might be able to. There just isn't any way for a fighter of Hatton's size and style to compete. He isn't hard to hit and if Cotto couldn't trouble Margarito with his power, Hatton can't either. They would both hit each other a lot while it lasted, but Margarito's punches would be doing much more damage.

Hatton has no business in the welterweight division and to be honest he never did. Top quality boxers with good speed, skills and defence can move up through the weight divisions and, if they are good enough, compete with the best. Even the best brawlers give away too many of their advantages if they run into naturally much bigger men of similar ability. If your game plan depends on being able to out muscle and bully your opponents you are going to be in deep shit when you run into fighters who can push you around the ring and who aren't troubled by your shots. Hatton in my view is just too small to really trouble the best of the welters. Cotto, Margarito, Williams and the like have too many physical advantages. Floyd wasn't much bigger and stronger than Hatton, but as he showed, his boxing skills are on another level entirely.

Brilliant fight - one of the best I've seen in a while. I did have a feeling that Cotto wouldn't be able to keep up what he was doing for 12 rounds. He clearly won the first half of the fight, but 7th Round onwards it was all Antonio.

that was a great fight, cotto's boxing skills were amazing. he had such a height disadvantge 5'7 v 5'11 ffs but that didn't even really affect the way he was landing his punches on margarito. unusual to see a fighter of this height at welterweight. margarito's left uppercut was very good and he had some very good combinations. after about the 7th round it was clear that cotto was running out of steam.

I've watched it twice now, Cotto pulled off some fucking incredible boxing in the first half of the fight, great stuff, but Margarito was on him from the get go, even tho' he had no rhythm early on you could see he was confident in his own ability (stamina/chin etc.) and had his game plan, and he never stopped, ever.

Depending on how you score a fight will depend on who you had in front going into the 11th, either could have been up by 2 rounds, so it all depended on the last 2.

It's a bit weird seeing Cotto 'give up' like he did tho', he's a champion ffs, he's still in the fight, he wasn't knocked out, he just ran out of gas

Delighted for Antonio, he finally got his dues, the night he lost to Williams he was quite simply awful, I doubt he'd be that bad again, thus why he has to have a rematch, like he has to with Cotto... I reckon Margarito would beat Williams in a rematch and I reckon Cotto would beat Margarito in a rematch, possibly 2 trilogys for Margarito to have under his belt before retirement.

The Welters are the best division by a long shot, we need Floyd back right now too, 'magine him in the mix aswell, and with the kind of money to be made that there is, Money Mayweather wont be gone too long.

When i say hattons finished i mean his life style has caught up with him . You carnt do what he does with out consequences . I tried finding some info from a body builder who was about in the the late seventies early eighties . His name escapes me but his thoughts on competion and pre competion size and condition have always stuck in my head and can inturn be used on a lot of sports . Its a shame hatton never read this or the "preacher" because he could have got a few more years out of his career . it would be a crying shame to see him fall to far from grace because he is a lovely bloke and a terrific fighter in his day .

Yeah i reckon he'll be back real soon too...well i hope so, he will!

I see Billy Graham is seeing Hatton's demise too.

Graham looks like he is not for this world much longer , he didnt look well when i see him on the telly last .

I was told that Graham didnt want Hatton to step up in weight he didnt think he would cope but was allways over ruled by the Hattons , if thats true i dont no ?
