The Matt Le Tissier appreaciation thread

I'd would say he's the best player to ever play in the Prmeirship bar none.

If you think Yeboah owned Le Tiss you've been smoking too much crack, for a start Le Tiss did it season after season.

best to have played in the premiership :D you havnt a clue have you :D :D :p :p

Yes, he was one of the Prmeirships most prolific scorers, depsite playing for a truly abyssmal team, being overweight, having no pace and not being an out-and-out cnetre forward,

I don't think any player can match his 48 out of 49 penalites scored. He score some of the best goals in the Prmeirship and was probably themost naturally gifted player to play in the Prmeirship

I do I just don#'t think you can remember how good Le Tissier actually was. He was lazy and all the rest of it, but you never see Henry do anything Le Tissier couldn't of done.

vrs man utd spun volleyed in from the left beat barthez ?

Iam not trying to start a argument here mate , but bottom line is if he was as good as people claim him to be he would have been brought by a top english club or gone to the contienant , these people know the game inside out he wasnt seen as worth the gamble . Look at anelka clubs keep spending out on him because of how could he can be , if le tiss was that good he would have gone imho .

running fast?

long overdue thread

MLT was one of the best players in the history of the premiership, possibly the best and I err on the side of the latter. 2 words total class.

Jokers

MLT detractors (I've noticed) have never seen a game of football. Surely that has to be a prerequiste for posting on this thread, would MLT participating in said game be of relevance too.

How do you know if people have seen a alrge number of matchs ??

I think he as a above average player who could score great goals but you lot are talking as if he was up there with cruyff , best , maradona and he wasnt .

Yes he culd of defintely scored that goal, infact his last ever goal was a spectualr left-footed volley scored on the turn against Henry's Arsenal.

Le Tissier never wanted to leave Southampton; is Totti a lesser player because he sticks with Roma?

that would be good to put on someone's gravestone:D

Truth is though taht Le Tisser didn't need pace, he could beat players with pure skill and consistently scored goals from outside the box.

Totti is over rated , no you dont need pace but le tiss did nothing in more games than he did anything ;) :p

Sorry to post so soon on this thread, but pawn, leaving maradona and pele cruyff out of the equation, MLT is as good as George best and he is often compared to the best.

Thats a bold statement there mate not one i could agree with though iam afraid ;) . Serious though if he is as good as you say he is dont you think someone would have brought him to a top club ??

Dont start all that pish about not wanting to leave it comes back to laziness an not wanting to try an better himself .

Not fair Southampton totally relied on him and game to game he wasn't that incosistent. Often he would disappear for long streches of games, but on the othe hand a lot of the time to get two goals all he'd need was two shots from outside the area. Also remember Southampton were crap (really crap, most of the players shouldn't of been playing in the Prmeirship, rather the lower leagues, which is where they would of been without Le Tiss), he couldn't rely on other players cretaing chnaces for him.
