The short bit I've seen seemed pretty safe and wet. Hopefully they'll get the confidence to be a bit more tenacious. They should be tearing into people and situations - this seems like a formal acceptance that things are shit and that's the way it is (*knowing laughter*).

It's a bit rubbish. The fake news stuff... What's the point. It's not weird enough to be disconcerting and funny like say, on the Hour. not cutting enough to be pointed satire.

The rest has been covered. nish is OK in with a bunch of other comedins on panel shows. Not notably funnier than some bloke you know down the pub. Paris is quite good but that shtick could get wearing quickly. Hunter Murray trying to mix in the naïve idiot question style, in otherwise straight interview is jarring and not funny.

This, really. Both daily mash and this show are relatively funny in terms of coming up with the joke - but spinning it out once we already know the headline rarely yields further returns. I rarely click through daily mash stories because the joke is in the headline. It’s the curse of the format.

The Onion is the only site that manages to build on their (excellent) headlines, I think. They also have a section of their site which is nothing but headlines, so they know what's worth expanding on

We need more talented people regardless of their background. I'm more than happy for a good Oxbridge comedian than a crap one just because their Oxbridge connects got them in.
