The mail in Brixton

It was Mark28790 or something like that. The point was that I dont think people realise that a lot of mail already is not delivered by RM.

It was me as well ;)

So it's Parcel Force?

Only 99% of mail is delivered by RM. When it says TNT or UK mail on your letter that means it was delivered by them from the printers to the main sorting office thats all.

Amazon not using RM. I wish!!

Amazon dont use RM -but I notice one poster has already blamed RM for lack of delivery.

It is practically impossible to guess whether they will use RM or a courier company if you have opted for faster delivery.

All items destined for UK addresses are dispatched by First Class post, HDNL, Parcelforce or DHL Express. It's not possible to choose exactly which carrier we use for your order. However, if the order qualifies, you can opt for free Super Saver Delivery.

The free Super Saver delivery is presumably all with the new contactor.

Yep it was definately royal mail that earlier Amazon order. Got my headphones I ordered the other day within two days though. It appears to be improving by the day now.

I only use free delivery with Amazon cos I is tight.

recent experience (this month):
1 Item lost in the system and never arrived (sent Via TNT)
1 item missing presumed lost for 10 days after postage (sent out via TNT who enventually found it and then "repurposed " it to Royal mail for the actual delivery bit)
2 items ordered last week - the second ordered at 4pm on thursday. Both were delivered 9am the next day (Royal Mail)
so from the above, it appears that RM ain't all that bad

But I agree Brixton colelction office is a shambles

I've been waiting nearly 2 months for an item from the US. According to the USPS tracking it's sitting in a sorting office waiting to be delivered.

Time to cross US (via truck) from San Fran: 2 days
Time to cross Atlantic from New Jersey: 2 days
Time sitting in sorting office half a mile from flat: 41 days

Does anyone know what times Royal Mail sorting office on Blenheim Gardens open?

(have a very-very-very important package to collect - according to the porter, the special delivery guy never came even if he says he did).

If it's the same hours as Wynne Road it'll be 8.30-12.30

Still an 8.00am start at Blenheim Gardens AFAIK (although bizarrely one of the two cards I got delivered this week had no local details printed on it at all)

My postie in SW2 has hit on an interesting way of speeding up delivery: get me to do it. Half the post that arrives through my letterbox is to the wrong address, frequently to the wrong street, so I trudge round and put it through the right doors for him. Yesterday evening I received my post, which had been wrongly delivered further up the street, so it looks like he's now enlisted more unpaid volunteer help.

maybe you've got some of my missing post?

Mind you, since I had a word with Blenheim Gardens last year about getting post for an address in Chelsea, that seems to have stopped :D

Yep, happens to us too!

Mind you, our postie of ten years left in november, and we've had an assortment of casuals and overtime bandits, although it looks like there's a rookie postie on our route now.
