The Long Overdue Terry Hall Appreciation Thread

I think Pie Face is the latest Hall convert. She only really knew the Specials but I've been playing FB3, Vegas, Terry, Blair.. etc all week and she's bowled over by him.

As she should be - he's fucking marvellous

I used to dream that Terry Hall would spot me in the crowd at a gig and fall in love with me. It never happened

I saw him at cargo on friday night guesting with the Dub Pistols. They were mostly a load of old toss but he made my year when he came on for three songs at the end - Rapture, then one of their tunes I think (which was great with him singing it) and then Gangsters. In a suit, looking old, smoking a roll-up, looking miserable. Only one comment to the crowd: "Fuck Chelsea".

Specials are my top 5 bands of all time. But Its usually jerry dammers who gets the credit for their music.

Yeah - FB3 did some very interesting stuff. Another vote for 'The more I see' also check out 'farmyard connection'. (digs out the album from the dusty pile of vinyl).
