the Liverpool v Chelsea thread

What a god awful dull heap of a game this is

Rangers game looks entertaining even if they look to have given up.

Flicking through the other games in search of entertainment, this is dull dull dull

Let me guess. It was great when Newcastle were in it.

Next you'll be saying that Alex Ferguson has never made a decent signing... oh hang on....

Twat.

whats the tally now? is it 3 or 4 blatant penalties we've been denied against chavski in recent fixtures?

ball wasn't over the line? penalty and keeper sent off! kay? move on.

once again the chavs play shit football with no creativity or attacking flair and foul us every chance they get and the frankly abysmal referee lets them get away with it.

what is maureen supposed to be good at? because it doesn't appear that his team can play in more than one way, and it certainly isn't picking the right team, as he keeps fielding drogba.

i hope they get their shit together for sunday and maybe give us a game.

You were both shit. And, for the sake of football, I hope neither of you make it to the Stade de France in May.

There is a vast difference between defensive play with purpose and skill and defensive play because you cant keep possession have nobody of genuine quality up front.

both teams are pretty boring. chelsea are a shit club, sorry a good club but shit at the moment because of what's happened. if they win the championes they'll deserve it but it will be a shame

Two of the least creative teams in 0-0 shocker.

God that was tedium itself...no one was taking a risk, or trying anything. No invention, but that's hardly surprising. LFC have one decent creative player in Alonso, Chelsea have to play it wide to try and get in behind a team.

Europe must be quaking...

Or maybe a really exciting, fast-paced, full of chances 0-0 draw!

Fucking hell that was bad. European champions versus English champions – I've seen more entertaining games in the park.

It was a great game......

If you'd had 6 tappist monk beers a few splifs and some mates round :D Liverpool should of had at least 9 pens :D

If it hadn't been for the Stevie Wonder style refereeing we would have done them again. Wait till Sunday, their luck can't hold out much longer.

I like Maureen's suggestion that Liverpool played basketball tactics. That would explain why Gallas felt the need to use his arm to control the ball.

That's now five stonewall penalties that Liverpool have been denied against Chelsea in the last three matches at Anfield. I can see why Abramovich needed some more cash now.

What comes around goes around pal, you had the Stevie Wonder linesman last year so I can't see how you can complain.

To be honest this was never going to be anything but a draw unless we snatched one on the break. I thought Liverpool were quite canny in that although they played a little further up the pitch they always lobbed high ball to Crouch so that they didn't committ too many players forward and be caught by us on the counter. Cech didn't have a save to make really.

We are perfectly happy with the away point.

The referee has already gone on record as saying that had the linesman not given that goal he would have sent Cech off and given a penalty. Either way, justice would have been done. I would have preferred the ref's decision then Maureen would have nothing to bleat about.

Shit game overall last night though.

The optimist in me sez 2-0 Liverpool.

The realist sez 0-0, and a thoroughly dull night in the pub.

Wasn't as dull as I thought it'd be. Nice to see Crouch giving Carvallho (sp?) worries - 6 free kicks against - although it would've been better to see him do it a bit nearer the goal.

Chelsea get their traditional handball escape, Garcia's the most frustrating player I've ever seen in a Liverpool shirt, Cisse's beginning to worry me.

Same again on Sunday?

You should be.

We deserved to win. Your hoof it up field tactics made me laugh - £300m and you're hit and hope. Nice one.

Nice to see corrupt refs still in the game.

Three penalties not given.

Liverpool passed better than Chelsea and deserved to win the game.

It was dull but Chelsea games usually are.

Boring boring Chelsea.

Don't worry - Harry Kewell is on the comeback trail! lol :D

After seeing Simao v the Mancs - we should have paid the extra few quid....

NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

S'pose he'll make Garcia look like the paragon of tight possession and useful distribution. Fuckin' Bogan..

Garcia and Cisse do my nut as well.

But on a positive note - they are good players with useful qualities.

Good at picking up wages and useful keeping the bench warm every so often :D Garcia's always been like that - blows very hot and cold, which is why he doesn't get a look in internationally.

On balance Liverpool probably should have won, but the game was awful, no attacking flair from either team.

I was telling LFC fans to give Cisse a chance - I admit I was wrong, he's very, very average. Like Diouf standard average. On the positive side, Pongolle looked a lot sharper than i've seen in a long time.

And how many goals have that supremely entertaining wonder team Liverpool scored again this season? Oh yeah, five.

And Chelsea? 15. Who's boring again?

I'm looking forward to kewell coming back, we could use a bit of invention in the last third, if he can recapture the form he showed in his first season......

Garcia I have a bit of time for, Cisse - sell him for 10m in January.

Chelsea, they can't even fill up their ground, no-one wants to watch them.
