The Legendary DJ Derek @ Skylarkin' Soundsystem, The Prince 14/03/08

Aye and me if there's anymore going.

There's abotu 5 - 10 people I've told who are now going to this (who weren't aware it was going on) and I'm worried I won't be able to get in as I finish work at midnight in Maida Vale...

Count Skylarkin: 10pm - midnight*
DJ Derek: midnight - 2am*
Manello: 2am - 4am*

'Owzat.

Nice one -- we expect not to be able to arrive until ca midnight  , which means we miss your set probably Count S (sorry! :( ) but for a great Derekness timing, that's very welcome news -- cheers :)

Thanks for the getting-in reasurance too ....

Blimey, you kids! :D

OK, I've put William Of Walworth, Ian W, Snowy Again and Teuchter on the guestlist. You guys may want to let me know your real names as well... Next person to ask gets a freebie too, and that's me spent, otherwise the venue will probably lynch me.

is he still insisting on using public transport everywhere too? :D

Yes he is...

Am I last in on the freebies?

Woken up feeling under the weather, so I'm not going to make this now. Please pass my guest spot onto someone else.

Have a good one!

Just got back from this. It was a good night; I enjoyed the sets from the residents as well as DJ Derek's. The most packed I've ever seen the Prince, certainly.

It felt more like a proper Brixton night out than many I've been to recently.

I had a brief chat with Mr. Skylarkin, AKA Aidan, at the end, and he seems a friendly chap with good intentions (and Brixton roots too) and I reckon he should be encouraged to mention future events on here .....

My only complaint is aimed at the Prince management for not getting enough bar staff in. It took my friends and I the best part of an hour to get a drink when we first arrived. Sort it out! That's not on if you're charging people a fiver to get in.

^^^What he said. It was one of the better local nights out of recent times. I danced lots - not a pretty sight, but did I care? I did not :D

The bar staff were really dreadful .... the only system seemed to be serving the pretty young women first :)

Cheers people - and nice to meet you, teuchter - albeit at the end of the night when I was thoroughly splattered! A top evening indeed, I reckon we're going to have to get Derek back on a more regular basis. I'll keep you all informed (if that's OK) :)

Wotcha Willhelm (and everyone else). We're doing this again next Friday night (May 9th). I haven't been to Brixton in bleedin' aaaaages, and myself and the Old Man are very much looking forward to the occasion. Not least because Derek got a cheeky snog in the beer garden last time.

Guestlistage for the first five people who ask nicely. Have a top weekend, all. :)
