Full of holes just like a metal T-shirt should be.

It is extremely annoying I've gotta say. There are though, in amongst the wankers who are doing it for the cool factor, some kids who do look like they're really into the band they've got on their chests.milesy said:it's bizarre, it really is. why wear a t-shirt of a band that you've never even heard of or don't really like?!?! i know the whole "rock chic" look is quite in, but that's just dumb.

sojourner said:I smiled at your smiths tshirt/teen episode - I wouldn't let my daughter buy a Che tshirt unless she read up all about him and the politics, and agreed with them, on the grounds that it's utter wank to emblazon yourself with something you know fuck all about![]()
No.fucking.WAY!milesy said:i remember reading an interview with someone who got talking to a model at some party who was wearing a motorhead t-shirt. "you like motorhead then" "yeah, they make cool clothes"![]()
I'd have made her take the fucking thing off!!My kid, in the singular, does not own a Che tshirtHollis said:So its plain designs or patterns for your kids?
She does however, own a Green Day, a Good Charlotte, a Foos, and a Chillis tshirt - cos she likes the bands and loves the music

Why would you wear a tshirt of a band if you don't a) like them or b) have heard of them, unless you're trying to be 'cool'? That's what fucking annoys me - it's not about being 'precious', it's about having a passion for music, and if you really admire a band, wearing a tshirt that tells the world you love them, and if someone isn't wearing it for those reasons, then it's baseless wank, isn't it?LD Rudeboy said:I think you guys a being a bit harsh. Well, why do they think it IS cool? Is it cos everyone else is wearing band tshirts, and so a herd thing, or is it that they have some knowledge of how good the band was and so want to show their musical passions without actually having them in reality?Orang Utan said:Cos it looks cool?
The Motorhead logo looks cool - you don't need to be aware of the band to have an aesthetic reaction to it. All the t-shirts I've seen 'the kids' wear have a strong visual presence, ie MC5, Rolling Stones, etc etcsojourner said:Well, why do they think it IS cool? I've seen mostly Ramones and Led Zep tshirts tbh. I agree that the Motorhead logo is interesting, but I'm afraid I don't have much time for people who just want to look 'cool'...smacks of shallowness to me. And what is 'cool' - what does it mean to you? Do you try and be 'cool'? Do you understand the mentality behind the concept?Orang Utan said:The Motorhead logo looks cool - you don't need to be aware of the band to have an aesthetic reaction to it. What's wrong with trying to look cool? Isn't that what fashion is all about?sojourner said:Why would you wear a tshirt of a band if you don't a) like them or b) have heard of them, unless you're trying to be 'cool'?
What I think is 'cool' is something I like the look of. That's all. It's not complicated.sojourner said:I've seen mostly Ramones and Led Zep tshirts tbh.
