The Kidz are wearing Old Band T-shirts!!!

I think I've still got a couple of Pushead ones knocking about.
Full of holes just like a metal T-shirt should be.

Gone are the days of wearing in a tshirt till it looks right. I think the fashion victims can buy them ready worn in nowadays :(

poor Hollis. he behind the times :(

maybe one day the kids will be wearing HOLLIS t-shirts, not knowing who hollis is.

Do not worry milesy.. I am of an age where I do not care if my ear is not so near the 'street' as those younger than my good self.

:)

it's bizarre, it really is. why wear a t-shirt of a band that you've never even heard of or don't really like?!?! i know the whole "rock chic" look is quite in, but that's just dumb.
It is extremely annoying I've gotta say. There are though, in amongst the wankers who are doing it for the cool factor, some kids who do look like they're really into the band they've got on their chests.

I smiled at your smiths tshirt/teen episode - I wouldn't let my daughter buy a Che tshirt unless she read up all about him and the politics, and agreed with them, on the grounds that it's utter wank to emblazon yourself with something you know fuck all about :)

i remember reading an interview with someone who got talking to a model at some party who was wearing a motorhead t-shirt. "you like motorhead then" "yeah, they make cool clothes" :D

My kid, in the singular, does not own a Che tshirt :) She does however, own a Green Day, a Good Charlotte, a Foos, and a Chillis tshirt - cos she likes the bands and loves the music :)

Isn't it a bit like wearing say basketball boots when you don't play basketball?

<Wonders about some Brit kids' habit of wearing BASEBALL CAPS and shirts with names of American 'football' and US baseball or basketball teams on> x 10,000

They can't all be 'fans' of the Boston Red Sox [etc.] can they?

Bonkers! <--- non US word ... :p

cos they look like all them "pretend rock band" t-shirts that are doing the rounds. maybe people buy them not knowing that they are actually a real band :D i remember reading an interview with someone who got talking to a model at some party who was wearing a motorhead t-shirt. "you like motorhead then" "yeah, they make cool clothes" :D

So hard to believe ....

I think you guys a being a bit harsh. If a kids likes a T-shirt what difference does it make if they are really into the band or not? It all sounds a bit precious to me.

Why would you wear a tshirt of a band if you don't a) like them or b) have heard of them, unless you're trying to be 'cool'? That's what fucking annoys me - it's not about being 'precious', it's about having a passion for music, and if you really admire a band, wearing a tshirt that tells the world you love them, and if someone isn't wearing it for those reasons, then it's baseless wank, isn't it?

Well, why do they think it IS cool? Is it cos everyone else is wearing band tshirts, and so a herd thing, or is it that they have some knowledge of how good the band was and so want to show their musical passions without actually having them in reality?

The Motorhead logo looks cool - you don't need to be aware of the band to have an aesthetic reaction to it. All the t-shirts I've seen 'the kids' wear have a strong visual presence, ie MC5, Rolling Stones, etc etc

I've seen mostly Ramones and Led Zep tshirts tbh. I agree that the Motorhead logo is interesting, but I'm afraid I don't have much time for people who just want to look 'cool'...smacks of shallowness to me. And what is 'cool' - what does it mean to you? Do you try and be 'cool'? Do you understand the mentality behind the concept?

What's wrong with trying to look cool? Isn't that what fashion is all about?

I own some surfer label stuff but I don't surf does that make me a wanker?

What I think is 'cool' is something I like the look of. That's all. It's not complicated.

Be honest; if your CD collection was Coldplay, Keane and Busted would you not want to wish you were a punk rocker with flowers in your hair and wear t-shrits from when music really mattered and when radio was king?
