Be nice to talk about the bar in this thread.
Here's some photos from last night. I really recommend it!
Jazz jam at The Junction, Brixton’s newest bar on Coldharbour Lane
Alright, back on topic.
Are the prices listed on the blackboard for draught beers for pints? £4 for Sierra Navada is quite reasonable, for a non-hipster like myself that tries to avoid the mass market shit larger
Yes. I think my London Pride was £3.50/pint.
That's pretty good. Was it cask or kegged?
He had to hand pull it with quite a few motions so I assume that makes it cask.
That's what I like to see - a drummer using brushes.
Used to live really near this place, really glad to see it has become something that looks, to me, really great.
Going to check it out next weekend I think. My local at the time used to be The Sun and as reasonable as that place is/was I just got pissed off with the barman who begrudged serving men and was all about wondrous customer service to women. Wonder if he's still there...
Used to love a bit of jazz on a Sunday drinking session so if they did that on Sundays I'd be all over that.
They've moved the Queen's Head Monday folk nights there too.
This sounds like shit I used to put up with in the pubs back in the country.
I used to live in LJ when I first moved to London. There were loads of boozers. Not so many now though. Glad this place has stayed a pub. Went in a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it
Warrior /Junction = gone
Green Man = gone
Crown/Mucky Duck = gone
Lost pubs and bars of Brixton - a history of closed, abandoned, demolished pubs in and around Brixton, London SW9 with photos and comment
Tried to go last Sunday evening but it was empty/closing. Went to Effra instead. The barman told us they usually have Jazz on Tuesday and Saturday nights.
Aye, on their website the closing time for Sunday is 6pm, which is a bit rubbish.
I agree, the changes in Brixton are all about gentrification and money moving in. Brixton doesn't have a Dalston Superstore or Cafe Oto.
more's the shame - I mean Dalston Superstore was full of cunts when I went the once, granted - but I'd love to be able to see the arkestra, say, in a small venue round the corner
Lovely atmosphere there last night. Come down and support this pub!
A Monday night folk jam at The Junction in Lougborough Junction – photos
compared to Paris for sure.............
Great to see there's entertainment every night of the week now:
Live entertainment 7 days a week at the Junction, Loughborough Junction, south London
Great to see the place doing so well.
