Greebozz, eyerolling, putdowns, and sneering aren't exclusive to the far left at all, think of the condescending comments new labour make about the
'old left' , about how the left need to live in 'the real world' and about how idealistic the left are, which they then contrast to their more supposedly more 'pragmatic' approach (.i.e accepting the logic of a free market economic sysytem doing deals with big business in PFI arrangements and so on.)
I agree its all too easy to dismiss the far let all as bigots with psychological problems who by definition are incapable of relating to ordinary people , but I guess the truth is more complex than that. Some of the far left attempt to engage with , and sometimes do connect with ordinary people. The Socialist Party and Respect are far from perfect ,and have loads of critics here, but neither of them would have won any council seats two weeks ago (albeit a very modest total) if they had totally failed to strike a chord with anyone outside the circle of the far left. Neither would someone like Mark Serwotka have been elected as leader of PCS if he was totally divorced from ordinary PCS members.
What I'm saying is... the left are probably no worse or better than any other group in society , in terms of being arrogant or condescending.
