JCB SONG - crap / not crap

It's quite nice to see Nizlopi making it big, I've known them for years and they're from Herefordshire, my home county. They've headlined the acoustic tents at plenty of festivals for ages but only really recently been noticed. I love 'em.

It's a happy song that would make a good xmas number one. Better than the usual boyband stuff with angel chimes/church bells in it.

A guy came up to me at a gig last night, never seen him before in my life, started asking me if I'd heard it, how I HAD to hear it because it would makemy worlda better place etc etc.

surely thats enough to put anyone off any song!!

Well I fucking love it.

I've downloaded some other stuff by them on the strength of it and its cool too.

Great band.

If you like this song you probably also like:

Four Weddings & a Funeral
Notting Hill
Other schmaltzy sentimental tosh

I quite like the idea, but the song is cloyingly worthy and sentimental - way too icky for my tastes. It sounds like Christopher Lillicrap FFS! And I'm not sure how I feel about a grown adult singing the lines of a five-year-old kid. Something unsettling about it...

Absolutely top song. It's so refreshing to see straightforward, honest writing with such resonant imagery. People saying that it's schmaltzy and sentimental are totally missing the point and, to be frank, heartless, soulless, emotionally dead old grouches. It'll be a crime if it doesn't make it to number one.

Is that the nizlopi one?

edit to add: yeah it is, same director also did this video for the acoustic version of creep.

(sorry wolfie)

Taking a five year old on a JCB breaks all sorts of Health and Safety regulations.

And I'm sure the truancy officers would be interested in him bunking off school too.

I like it. I've been humming it all morning.

My favourite bit is where he rhymes B.A. Baracus with Bruce Lee's Nunchuckas.

If that does't make you smile, well, I pity you.

I like it.

A lad I play football with - tough tackling defender manages/produces? the band.

The video is good as well - and my daughter likes it.

So definately a not crap in my book.

I might even buy it.
