The IT Crowd

Dear Chris Morris ,

I used to worship you , The Day Today , Jamm , Brass Eye , My Wrongs and the radio shows that I can't remember.

What happened? I never thought I'd watch a program with you and a laughter track :(

<Husker Du> It's not funny any more.. </Husker Du>

Chris Morris can do no wrong.

No, wait. Yes he can this is shit, what a load of shit. Just because I can hear people laughing does not mean this utter shit is funnny.

What a load of shit.

Never since alas shit and Jones have I not even managed to rase a smile at comedy.

i quite liked it...it wasn't amazingly funny but still funto watch:) reminded me of older comedies like Surgical Spirit/Keeping up appearances where the stuff isnt necessary piss your pants hilarious but still amusing and easy viewing:)

but but but

it's utter pants! unless there were jokes in their so subtle that i missed them ... the whole think was a half arsed pardy of what people think computer jokes are like unless thats the pont .. and if it is ... it still ain't funny

Well today I've learnt it's possible to sit through 30 minutes of a "comedy" show and not laugh. Once.

Utterly Utterly Embarrassingly unfunny Shit.

The laughter track was annoying but I still enjoyed it - wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

You can tell its a Lineham production with the Irish guy being a cross between Bernard Black & Father Ted.

Generally rubbish, but Morris' scenes saved it from being utterly dire. Was that Danny Wallace as his assistant?

The second episode isn't really any better than the one I watched on channel4.com last week. Morris is good admittedly, and there are one or two good lines ("I can't go to prison, I'd be raped to flip"), but on the whole it's pretty limp stuff.

I'd been looking forward to it, I have to admit, but i was really disappointed very quickly. After the complete genius that was Green Wing last year (when is it coming out on dvd, when? WHEN???) i've been searching for new british comedy fix and.... this just isn't it.

Totally unfunny. And the laughter backing track really started to grate after a few minutes.

unfunny and disappointing. Watched an episode of Brass Eye afterwards to remind myself how good Chris Morris can be.

You have terrible taste. :p

one minute i'm embarrassed for everyone involved, but the next i'm laughing out loud

i wish i didnt have the shit bits in it, but the fact i laughed out loud is good enough for me :)

Don't be daft.

???

I'm sorry, but the 'laughter' didn't seem to come at the natural points I expected it to, so seemed forced to me.

and, bugger, I missed the new Green Wing trailer. Which IS funny.

Do you work in IT snufkin?

I've worked in IT offices for years, incidentally of teams of 3/4. It is never like that. Fucking stupid trashy TV.

You've not worked in the same places as me then. :p

I shall be tuning in next week.

it's over dramatic to the point of suicide. I can't stomach the show. Not only does no one look like that daft fucking prick with the velcro afro on his head, no one sounds near as grating (at least not anyone I've met on this planet), I could stop watching the show just for those points, but there are literally hundreds more. I want my 30 minutes back Channel 4. Fucking wasted.

Green Wing was excellent, best thing Channel 4 have put out in ages.

FFS, it's not a fucking documentary - did you complain that nobody really talks like Manuel off Fawlty Towers when that was on?
