The Inevitable we all Love MK Dons thread.

Why should we have not been allowed in the league ion the first place. We won the league vote in 1977. Entering the league in the forth division. The only vote MK won was the FA three man bottle commissions vote on 28th May 2002 & then they got immediate entry to the then division one. Good thing as well as their record since then has not been too successful.

Your crowds were too low!
And in your first season as a league club your crowds were still really shit as im sure you know. There were other non league clubs at the time who would have got much bigger crowds if they had been elected in to the league.

You have to admit Andy that MKs crowds have been really impressive.

If Milton Keyenes wanted a club of their own why didn't they just start one and move up the divisions like every other team did ( apart from arsenal )

If Wimbledon wanted a club of their own why did they move to Selhurst? and then why did AFCW fans buy Kingstonians ground off a property speculator?
And what about Bolton? or Clyde or Livingston?

Stop being a cock Baldwin. Wimbledon tried for years to get a ground located somewhere in Merton, let alone Wimbledon, without any success.

If you remember Plough Lane wasn't deemed to be premiership standard.

So they decided that the best interests of the club were to move away from Wimbledon....erm.....Who would have thought eh.......

And the people who run AFCW decided to buy somebody elses ground ( at a inflated price) off a property speculator.....

Silly, silly me & there was I thinking that league position was down to how many points you have won. Are you a Newcastle Utd supporter..?? Because crowd size is the only way they will break into the top 4..

Amazing what you can do with 3,000 free tickets. But MK do not even have the biggest average attendance in Div 4, that's Bradford..

:D:D:D

What, a bunch of children and non-football people who simply believe Milton Keynes is a great city that simply deserves a top flight football team, half of which get in for free?

Really impressive crowds, those.

What a pity then that after going through all the effort of stealing a football club from 70 miles away (rather than lending support to the local club like everybody else in the world does), the "club" has sank like a stone instead of giving Milton Keynes its long overdue and richly deserved Premiership status. Shame too that it is despised and regarded as the abomination it is by virtually every single football fan in the land (and most pundits, and most other clubs) and its non-fans are mocked and treated with contempt everywhere.

Milton Keynes= indescribably shit, boring and soulless dormitory town where the sightseeing highlights are roundabouts and concrete towns, and with an aberration of a non-football club that is as popular as a salmonella kebab.

Wow! Where can I buy a season ticket? I want to be part of all the excitement! :D

Silly? You Andy? Bit harsh, perhaps.

But Wimbledon were elected into the league not promoted. I dont know if your aware that at the time there was a Northern Premier and Southern Premier League and also an Isthmian League. Perhaps you do and know what club had the highest attendance.

As for Bradford example. I suppose you do know that they slashed the prices of their season tickets which is the only reason there crowds are higher than MK Dons.

PS What was the lowest league crowd to watch you home or away in your first season in combined counties and what is it this year after a couple of promotions?

I ask the question not to just have a dig, but cos im not sure. But think that the crowds following the dons away seem to have gone down quite a bit which is a shame.

Oh ha-bloody-ha

Nope, but I am sure you will inform me..

Yes I did know they had slashed their ticket prices, but as I mentioned earlier MK Dongs give about 3000 tickets free & still include those tickets in the officla attendence figure

PS What was the lowest league crowd to watch you home or away in your first season in combined counties and what is it this year after a couple of promotions?

Season 2002/03
Lowest Home League Crowd - 2,338 Mertsham
Lowest Away League Crowd - 660 Bedfont

Season 2007/08
Lowest Home League Crowd - 2,092 Boreham Wood
Lowest Away League Crowd - 752 Billericay Town

I ask the question not to just have a dig, but cos im not sure. But think that the crowds following the dons away seem to have gone down quite a bit which is a shame.

True our away following has dropped this season I do not go to as many away games as I used to. Number of reasons, family, done the ground, cannot be arsed..
But we still take 1600+ to a big game like Tonbridge away in the FA Trophy.

Anyway enough of your guff balders.. when are you going to make it to a game..??

Andy. Far be it for me to outperv you on your own clubs attendances. But Billericay was far from your lowest attendance...Did you not get along to the footballing mecca of the Hare and Hounds or your trips to Boreham Wood or East Thurrock?

Of course one question that begs asking is that where were MK Dons "fans" before 2002?

Answer: nowhere to be seen. This despite various real and established football clubs within reach that could have done with their support. Including Milton Keynes City FC.

You're not kidding anyone pal. Time to give it a rest, there's a good lad.

So what Poole has a population of over 250,000, larger than MK, do they deserve a professional football team..??

Play-offs still hoping for automatic promotion. We are 6 points behind Chelmsford with a game in hand & are due to play them in March. But should we get in the play-offs I am easy about who we play as we have beaten all the teams currently in the play-off positions.

Anyhow could all football fans watch Nuts TV (yes the magazine for lads who find Loaded a bit too intellectual) freeview channel 42 at 10pm tonight & for the next 20 weeks. Football Hurts its all about us. In one of the first episodes it follows myself & friends as we travel to Tonbridge angels for a FA Trophy match.

According to Wikipedia the population of Poole is about 140,000 - a bit short of a quarter of a million. Anyway , you've already got a Football League club - isn't Poole part of Bournemouth.

mk dons shouldn't even be in the leagure in the first place. it's like they have cheated for a league place, instead of going up through the lower divisions.

Why should MK Dons fans have supported Milton Keynes city. They played in the Spartan South Midlands League against Village teams. Look at the crowds in that league?
And MK is a big enough town to support a club playing in the Premiership probably.

I have some sympathy with old wimbledon fans. But look at what Charlton fans did to get back to the Valley and look at how little Wimbledon fans did to get back to Plough Lane.

Apart from holding protests, marches, setting up an independent supporters association, setting up a supporters trust, lobbying & investigating any appropriate sites. But, tbaldwin, you already know this & you are just being small, green & hairy.

BTW AFC Wimbledon are playing Corinthian Casuals in a friendly at Wembley on Sunday 13th April, tickets are £20 each.

Poole and Bournemouth are completely separate places. Nearby certainly, but separate.

So is Bristol, Leicester and, god forbid, Cardiff.

What the fuck has that got to do with it?

They could've even supported their local club of Northampton, a mere 15 min car journey up the M1, instead of fabricating a rivalry with them.

Grrr! Milton Keynes

Good access to parking in the town centre though.

Lawrie Sanchez said on the telly the other day that MKD are giving AFCW the trophy and memorabilia from the 1988 FA cup win. Good sporting move. Suprises me that they would agree to this.

I believe they were handing over all the trophies, memorabilia etc etc from before 2003 to London Borough of Merton who were then passing it on to AFCW.

You're still bothering us with this drivel? LOL! :D

If you weren't trolling I would happily explain to you why residents of Milton Keynes should have supported the local team regardless of their league status, instead of ignoring football altogether for decades until someone decided they would cheat their way into the Premiership by parachuting an established football club from 80 miles away. I would also point out that the answer to your question is why virtually every football supporter in Britain sees MK as the opposite of football club and an aberration to everything the game is.

But since you are trolling and know the answer full well there wouldn't be much point would it?

Better luck next time. Full mark for resilience though, if not for technique or subtlety.

Its a shame they dont hand them over to a club that plays in the borough like Rayners Lane or Colliers Wood. Its a shame that instead they are giving it to a club using the Wimbledon name playing in a ground in Kingston that they bought off a greedy property speculator.

What would they? No club playing there is Wimbledon FC or its successor.

Unlike a certain American-style franchise which won support for its dastarly plans by claiming it was the only way to "save" Wimbledon FC, only to rename and rebrand the club shorlty after taking it.

LOL!

Thanks to the actions of Wimbledon FC's owners, who sold the club to a speculator from another city 80 miles away, and Wimbledon FC's chairman who actively campaigned against the club buying off its own ground in Plough Lane because there was money to be made by selling off to the fine city of Milton Keynes.

Can everybody please shut the fuck up about M.K Dons, as far as i am concerned they should never be in the league and once afc wimbledon sort themselves out they should hand there status back to them, i don't live that far away from m.k and where i work the director has tickets every week to go and watch them, i've been to many grounds to watch a footie game not just the walkers stadium, but i will never go to M.K Dons out of principle. As far as i'm concerned they should be in the conference or 7 leagues lower.

So thats an excuse for buying Kingstonians ground at an inflated rate from a property speculator is it?

We wouldn't have had to buy anything had the club not been moved to another county for no good reason whatsoever.

What's the excuse of the Milton Keynes chap who arranged the operation for buying Wimbledon FC, taking it 80 miles away and changing its name and identity (other than the obvious)?

There is only one club here that is so in the wrong it shouldn't even exist, and it is rightly despised by absolutely everyone. As you know full well.
