The Human Centipede

Saw it at the cinema this evening. It's extraordinarily silly :D
And full of people who are too fucking stupid to live

Nothing could prepare the officers for the horror they found in Jeremy Clarkson's basement.

Even on Radio 4's Front Row they said that once you get over the premise, it's more silly and camp than truly disturbing.

I find that very hard to believe. I'm sure it is an absolutely serious treatment of what are, let's face it, some very important social issues - like, say, Re-animator treated severed-head zombie cunnilingus with the respect it deserved.

They also discussed a Thai horror film alled Meat Grinder which they did said was genuinely horrifying and an allegory on Thai politics or somesuch.

Oh yes, I'm putting down a vital piece of human expression.

You stoopid dullard, have you got nothing else to champion but the right to produce varying degrees of porn?

I was reading about "A Serbian Film" recently, which was also described as appallingly horrible and a direct satire of recent political events - loss of memory, committing atrocities etc etc. Not sure I actually want to watch it mind you.

There has been some talk about it on the Frightfest thread. Rumor has it Westminster Council is just about to ban the screening.

I watched the Human Centipede this evening.
Awful acting but it actually made me gag at one point.
Awful film, in a good way.

I don't know if the acting is bad, more that the characters and plot are pretty basic. It has one of the better mad scientists I've seen - he really is properly demented. It is well shot too I think.

It really isn't scary unless its the first horror film you've ever seen. There isn't much more to it than the premise either. But I thought it was fun. Also, the two annoying women are unable to annoy you by running around and screaming like generic horror film women, at least not after a while... Shuffling and going "mmmmph!" maybe.

"Airhead #1" and "Airhead #2" aren't really very challenging characters. It's good that they were sewn into place after a bit tbh because it meant you always knew who was who.
