Hatton - Mayweather - prediction

I really can't make up my mind on this one. You can make a reasonable case for either boxer and for almost any kind of fight.

Hatton has to want it more, given what Mayweather has already achieved in the sport - yet it's Mayweather who walks around between fights in peak condition while Hatton is wolfing down the pies. Mayweather could dish out a boxing lesson, but Hatton has a lot more power, skill and ability to keep up the pressure than the likes of Gatti. Mayweather has an astonishing defence, but has he fought someone with the kind of relentless body attack which Hatton has? It could be a short fight, with Hatton swarming all over him or alternatively getting stopped on cuts. It could go the distance. It could be a real struggle or it could be one sided for either man.

We don't get to see two boxers at the peak of the sport, unbeaten, fighting very often. So let's enjoy it whatever happens.

(If I absolutely have to pick I'd say Mayweather on points.)

I really love Hatton´s quotes. I don´t think I´ve seen them bettered in fiction nor in real life.

"He's going to have to kill me for me to leave him alone for a split second. That controlled aggression from the heart is just going to destroy him, I think."

"When I look at Floyd Mayweather I don't think of all the bad-mouthing he's given me, I don't think that I want to beat him any more than anyone else just because of what he's been saying.

"The only thing I see is that 'best fighter pound-for-pound in the world' title dangling around his neck and I'm going to rip it from around his neck on December 8."

I definitely hope he gives Floyd a good tanning.

It's nothing new to see or hear a boxer acting a little cocky/chatting shit before a fight though is it. Is he any worse than Eubank, Ray Leonard et al? I quite like all that shit really. Benn Eubank fights were always great cos they hated each other and shit chatted....

i think you're right.
the twatishness of mayweather's behaviour just adds fuel to this fire.
it's just entertainment isn't it? i lose track of that sometimes...

i not been so excited since eubank vs benn!

well, we got to see Calzaghe v Kessler last month but I take your point.

We have been spoiled of late and this gift on the wee hours of Sunday morning is the peak.

I'm hoping for hatton in the first round.

then we can get on with watching cheesy 80s pop videos and dancing round the flat

The press confernce in Manchester was the funniest thing I saw on TV all year...well, at least the bits were Sky didn't have to go off air ("stop feeling my cock Floyd you poof" and "I missed my boy a lot when I was in America for a week (on the promotional tour of Vegas, NYC and Michigan) but then I realised I hadn;t missed him that much as I''d spent the week with another fucking six year old").
The bit that made me giggle most was at the end when they were squaring up to get their pics taken and Mayweather and his entire crew suddenly produce Man United shirts and stick them on.
Even as a City fan I had to laugh. Mayweather probably knows fuck all about "soccer" but it was a superb wind-up. I think even Hatton appreciated it.

I wish I could see that. And I can

It was great watching it live with Sky having to pull the live coverage rather rapido.

Shame the bit with Mayweather in a Man United shirt isn't up on Youtube.

There's a bit of him outside with the Man Utd Shirt on. It's Quality.

He's fronting big time like a hip hop star facing off a hostile Mancunian football style crowd. You have to hand it to Mayweather - he's a great character and has a great sense of humor.

This is why the fight will be so great because although each boxer is from a completely different background, both are equally charismatic, and both well deserving of the title on the biggest stage possible.

oh yes, and his special trianing on "dancing with the stars" is testiment to that
Do you think his participation in that will have any bearing whatsoever on this fight. Absolutely not. He'll be as prepared as ever. He is the ultimate athlete.

Absolutely 100% agreed. I wont be surprised whatever way it turns out, even if there's some mad controversy, or even if it's called off

There is no way Hatton can take a points victory in this.
With the history of some Nevada state judges even if Hatton gets the KO he'll still only get the draw.

See Lacy v Manfredy are on the undercard, should be interesting. I'd like to see Matthew 'Magic' Hatton's bout too, he's a Welter n'all. I'd say him and Richard have some interesting sparring sessions.

I don't think you can call yourself the greatest if you've never defended your title outside of your own country.

A tour is required. :)

I've read the Wiki about Mayweather and I've decided I just don't fucking like him.

Come on, Ricky!

(Ricky, btw....naming your house 'The Heartbreak Hotel'...it's not good mate, it's not good.)

Cheers for that I missed that bit on Sky Sports. Nice shot of Hatton pissing himself laughing in the background.

I agree. Remember the Lewis-Holyfield first fight, what a stitch up. And Lewi's victory in the second felt a bit hollow because of that.

i'm not messing with Mayweather, that guy exudes confidence like he doesn't even understand the concept of fear.

Hatton is to me, for example, FEAR

I want him to win though, the dullard

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOOLOLOLOLO!!!!!1!!!!!

PSA to Floyd Mayweather: Holding onto your penis in public does not make you look like you´re the daddy, contrary to what you may think.

i couldn't believe the ref though.
the cunt spoiled the fight. everytime hatton went close he would separate.
it's an absolute disgrace cos everyone knows that hatton is an in-fighter.

and when mayweather turned his back to those punches in the 6th that's when hatton lost the fight.

i'm ashamed to be called a boxing fan.

and that's not cos hatton lost...if it went the other way, i'd say the same.

terrible night for sports...

gonna start watching the UFC instead...
