Whatever the station is before Stockport coming into Stockport - not the prettiest stretch, but a marvel of engineering with I think, the world's longest/largest/tallest viaduct (one of those).
There is a lovely stretch of line in South Wales when you get the train from Swansea to Tenby, well it was when I used it about 10 years ago. There was a funny little two carriage local train which went up and round the river estuary - it was a summer day and the scenery was stunningly beautiful
I absolutely love getting the sleeper train to Fort William, getting pissed in the dining car with posh Scots, and then waking up in the morning as the train trundles over Rannoch Moor.
On one occasion, woken up by a bloke in the next cabin yelling "Hilda! Where's me troosers?" Sadly I never got to find out if his name was Donald.
But, for different reasons, there is a bit of the main line on the Sutton/Carshalton-Victoria route that swings round, just before Balham I think (if you are coming into London) and you are above the level of the houses so can just look over all the rooftops onto this vista of London.
It's not that you can see anything special, no historic buildings or anything like that just everyday houses and busineses but, especially on a sunny day, I'd look over the rooftops and think "I do like London. It's a great city"
