Why did it change America JC ?

Not really sure: I didn't make that poster.

It probably relates to the fact that Aaron broke Babe Ruth's home run record, and there was a big brouhaha about a black player breaking the Babe's record.

Eddie Kidd, River Blackwater, Essex, 1978. A young Sweet FA was there, gapemouthed with awe and amiration. Sweet FA replicated the jump a few days later, using a Grifter and an old shelf. The wait in casualty lasted 5 hours and the doctor was intrigued to learn how the young SFA had managed to break 4 fingers on one hand.

22nd April 2006 - After going one nil down in the 70th minute, and equalising in the 73rd - Portsmouth need a win to maintain their 17th place position. In the 89th minute they are awarded their first penalty of the entire bloody season (the last league team to be awarded one afaik)...

Matthew Taylor steps up.

I fall off the sofa and burst into tears :D

West Indies vs England (1994), Antigua. Trinidad batting wizard Brian Charles Lara breaking Sir Garfield Sobers world record test score.

Tommy%20Simpson.jpg

Tom Simpson, the first british cyclist to wear the maillot jaune in the Tour de France, 1962.

Tom died on Mount Ventoux in the 1967 Tour - collapsing a few kilometres from the summit. His last words are reported to have been "Put me back on the bloody bike". The photos of people attempting to ressucitate him by the side of the road must rank as some of the saddest pictures in sport.
