The Grand National

The Landlady in the local put a pound each on four horses each way.

two came in and she was excited to collect her eleven quid :D

She won more than me though

Yes. I lost everything I've ever worked for - everything - gone - gone to the bookies.

I'm ruined, finished........desolate - homeless, with no bfh.

The shirt off my back has been taken.

:(

still, at least it's the weekend:)

Yay! 2 winners in 5 years, and 3 each way's (comply or die and slim pickings this year) :D

My aunt's 'pickem out of a tin' method appears to work as she's had the winner for the last 3 years running

I picked up 55 quid on the National, I took Comply or Die on the nose and King Johns Castle e/w. I also had the first 3 winners of the day with the 1st and 2nd in the third race.

Poor old McKelvey he was a good horse. :(

I got Comply or Die in the sweepstake ( £90), and Slim Pickings and King Johns Castle had £5 on each way, not sure how much Ladbrokes owe me yet.

Thanks urban 75 for the tips!

I don't see why they can't make it safer, the owners, jockies and fans all say they love the horses, not just the winnings, so why can't they lower a few fences, i doubt the difference made will be that substantial.

I thought he collided with a barrier, so lowering the fence wouldn't have made any difference.
