The French. People with real balls (Economic crisis protests)

there was a thread the other day where some one posted google french military victories , tell you what as a military unit france might never have done much good , but the french working class are bloody good fighters , viva la revolution , go on lads and lasses

Good on them and all that but, unaccustomed as I am to playing the role of the cynic, I can't help wondering what alternative they think they are striking for? A vaguely more socialist government? Who will raise wages for everyone and not bail out bankers? And how long will that last? Whoever is in power will see the 'necessity' of wage freezes and of supporting banks - it will be forced on them by the global economy if nothing else.

Still, who knows where it might lead? Time for a new revolution perhaps? :D

That is not the point though is it?

At least they are DOING something, they are angry, they see their politicians caring about the bankers and the businesses but what about the man in the street? There is more to life than a job and money surely?
I think the ordinary joe in the street can see the fabric of their society being torn apart, and all governments seem to care about is helping those that caused it in the first place!!
At least in the UK we are seeing the first rumblings now of discontent. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7862255.stm What are the politicians going to do about it?

Call them racists, like the media?

Unless they go all the way, and guillotine Sarkozy and Carla Bruni, I won't be getting excited.

Apparently, the delectable millionare heiress Carla describes herself as a 'gut socialist'

which cynicism aside is an admirable stance and is how i would place myself

There was a 'special debate' in the House of Commons today on the issue of the wildcat strikes. Politician after politician spouted that these strikes "were not the way to deal with this issue".

What a load of Bollocks!!! Would they even be discussing the Euro work laws today at all if the strikes hadn't happened? I think not!

No one fears more than me the fact the the uber right scum may jump on the bandwagon on this isssue but people are getting really pissed off and unless the polliies come up with some result the BNP could have a field day!!
