barricade.jpg

JB Barricade is a simple yet effective brick wall limiter. The gain ride curve is very smooth and its time derivative is continuous, to ensure minimum distortion and aliasing artefacts. The drive knob adjusts the signal level before entering the limiter.

A variable saturation knob provides continuous morphing between the behavior of a classical limiter (zero softclipping) and a classical (soft)clipper (100% softclipping).

U-NO-60

jnuo-60-crop.jpg

The U-NO-60 vst plugin is a polyphonic virtual analogue synth with a unique filter sound. An original JUNO 60 is used as reference for the oscillators and filters.
Like the original, the plugin is capable of self-resonance and thus could be used to some degree as a tone generator.
The filter section also features controls for envelope amount and polarity, LFO modulation and keyboard tracking. In addition, a non-resonant highpass filter is provided to thin out lower frequencies.

The U-NO-60, notwithstanding, few parameters, can make a wide range of different and
exciting sounds.

* Polyphonic (6 voices)
* Bandlimited oscillators
* One syncable LFO with five different waveforms
* 24 dB lowpass filter with self oscillation, non-resonant high-pass filter
* Fast ADSR envelopes
* Smooth cutoff changes (also with midi controllers)
* Velocity sensitive filter envelope
* Midi learn for all potis
* Supports all sample rates
* 20 Presets

Scanned Synth Mini is now available for download from the link below. It features the same synthesis engine as the one used by Scanned Synth Pro (in other words they sound the same when using the same presets) but only allows new sounds to be programmed through randomisation. The user can set the amounts by which each group of parameters will be randomised but does not have direct access to the parameters themselves.

Scanned Synth Mini can load and save presets through the host application that are compatible with Scanned Synth Pro and vice versa. This means that Scanned Synth Mini can actually produce the full range of sounds that Scanned Synth Pro is capable of. Only the amount of control the user has over the sound is limited when compared to Scanned Synth Pro.

Scanned Synth Mini is completely free without any limitations. We plan to produce a Mac version of Scanned Synth Mini in the future.

If you find that you need the additional features that Scanned Synth Pro has to offer, just install it and Mini will be replaced by Pro in all your tracks without you having to do anything.

Scanned Synth Mini does not have its own documentation. The manual that comes with it is the one for Scanned Synth Pro.

thrummaschine.gif

thrummaschine is a 3-band distortion effect with independant, LFO-driven filters. Make your bass, mid and high frequencies oscillate at different speeds, shapes and pan, with whatever flavour and level of distortion you dial in for each band

- 3 user-defined bands for bass, mid and high freqencies, with overlap if required
- 3 filters with tempo-sync LFO, for each freq band
- overdrive, distortion and bitcrush effects
- send level for each band to each effect
- pan and volume for each band

!!WARNING!! Thrummaschine is capable of nasty loudness if you push the settings hard, keep volumes low while you play with the controls

Weird GUI but great sounding EQ that takes very low CPU power:

IIEQ

The EQ from the street: the younger brother of the IIEQ Pro has all the potential to become a big guy himself, but prefers to hang out all day instead, that lazy slacker! Maybe you are the one who can finally make him work?

http://ddmf.eu/plugins/IIEQ.dll

SmallEQ

Sick and tired of huge GUIs taking up all your screen space? Want an EQ that easily fits in your pocket but sounds just like the big guys? Then it's time to meet SmallEQ!

No, we haven't accidentally cut off 90 percent of the image, this is it: the worlds smallest EQ. The worlds smallest 10-band EQ, to be precise. Eight fully parametric bands together with one low- and one highshelf filter give you the full engine of the IIEQ on exactly 9135 square pixels.

"My interests lie in modeling analog electronics and especially the nonlinearities inherent in them. The focus is on sound quality, so don't complain if they use more cpu than your typical VST plugins. All of them use oversampling to avoid aliasing"

New from Christian Budde (ElectricQ):

NonameEQ.jpg

since it is common these days to release an EQ, here's my contribution to it: 'Noname EQ'.
A 7-band tracking EQ, designed for low CPU usage with the best possible sound quality.

It started as test engine for new EQ technologies. Then abused for the Int vs. Float EQ challenges. Now, since there is no more need for the plugin and since I have to focus on my studies for a while, I thought about releasing it.

Fragmental

fragmental.png

A complex multi-fx plugin incorporating a delay, granulator, three phase vocoder effects, a reversinator, and three types of modulation source. Incorporates a very flexible routing scheme capable of serial and parallel effects routings, and a new kind of modulation routing based on a kind of pie chart representation. This plugin was developed in conjunction with shamann from KVR. (C++)

The code for the phase vocoder effects comes from the PVOC plugins (Trans, Exag, Accum), at: http://people.bath.ac.uk/masrwd/pvplugs.html. It should be noted that the presence of the phase vocoder effects mean the plugin has a constant delay of 7680 samples, although PDC-capable hosts will compensate for this.

Note: Some of the presets are quite loud, so you may want to turn your speakers down when you're exploring them.

Brush Strokes v1.00

An audiovisual instrument with a drawing-based interface. Sound is generated in a manner similar to scanned synthesis, with two oscillators whose waveforms are obtained by scanning the x- and y-axis positions of the trail drawn by the user. The larger the gesture, the louder the sound, and vice-versa, when the mouse is not moving, no sound is generated.

DISCLAIMER:
It is not created with the general public in mind. I made it for our monomes (www.monome.org) and our live performances (to control the monome LED's and/or trigger notes/sequences - it communicates via OSC to/from the monome on ports 127.0.0.1:8000/8080). However since it doesn't require a Monome and does some nifty host-BPM synced polymetric note-sequencing I thought I'd post it here.

Usage example:
-insert on a MIDI track, route MIDI notes to another VSTi
-alt-click on (Mode "Normal" and set to SEQ (so all 64 pads trigger independent note-out sequences, vertical = velocity on the GUI sequencer)
-send MIDI notes to MonoChrome from your MIDI controller. The MIDI note you send (MIDI note 36-99) will toggle the corresponding sequence of MIDI notes at the assigned MIDI note#. Send the same note again to stop the sequence.

allows for some pretty intense polyrhytm stuff if you set different SEQ lengths!

http://www.devine-machine.com/steve/...MonoChrome.rar

P.S. I'll do my best to port it to OSX at some point. Lucifer 2.2 and Krishna are my current priorities however!

ISSUES:

1) it sends -80 dB of DC offset to prevent Live from suspending it if the GUI is closed. I need to find a better workaround for that, but since it doesn't pass audio, just lower the fader all the way (even though you won't see anything on the level meter, you are comprimising your headroom).

2) its hard to select a different pad to display/edit with the mouse when the desired pad is active (Stopping playback makes it easy).

3) only tested in FL Studio and Ableton Live. Who knows what happens elsewhere, I made it pretty darn quick. (/me pats himself on back)

Transilient.png

Transilient is a versatile FSU/Glitch type multi-effect unit designed to make strange and unusual new sounds -- yet still (hopefully) easy to use. The 5 different effects can be modulated by one of two 16-step sequencers, a LFO, any WAV file, and/or manually controlled. Additionally, the modulators can be synced to your host's tempo.

You can easiliy turn a single sustained note or chord into an electronic drum loop. Or take an existing drum loop and turn it into something glitch-like and noisy. Slower tempos work great for drone and ambient sounds.

16 presets are included to get you started.

BITTER SWEET

BitterSweet.jpg

This dynamic processor manages audio transients.

Turning the central button on the sweet side, decreases the transients amplitude. On the bitter side, the transients amplitude is magnified. Bitter-Sweet also features a control for the signal to be processed. When the main position is engaged, the process affects the stereo signal. If Center is engaged, only the M signal of the internal MS matrix is processed. If stereo is selected, only the S signal from the MS matrix is processed. As all Flux:: plug-ins it features 64 bit floating point processing, up to 8 channels and up to 8 FS (384 KHz). Center and Stereo Mode are only available in stereo (2 channels) processing.

We hope you will enjoy this new toy and make your Mix Sweeter or Bitterer.

PC-2 VST psychoacoustic compressor

Conventional compressors are based on peak or rms-level estimation to compute their time-variant gain or attenuation. This property of most compressors often causes undesirable intermodulation distortion and pumping/breathing artefacts.

JB PC-2 features a 'psycho-acoustic relevance' mode. Instead of using a peak or rms-level estimation, this mode employes a perceptual loudness model to compute the loudness of the input signal. This perceptual loudness model is combined with advanced attack and release stages that model peripheral adaptation of the human auditory nerve. The result is a very transparent compression characteristic, even with very short attack and release times.

On the other hand, the simple, classic compression behavior can be engaged too by simply switching off the complex loudness model.

TLs-2095-LA

TLs-2095-LA.jpg

Very nice limiter/compressor/squasher. Does wicked things to drums. Can be used on a per track basis, as latency=0. /loopdon

other opinions:

"holy crap this new compressor pumps! it's probably the *least* subtle dynamics tool I've ever used. I'm sure it handles transparency with grace but this pump is unique and just too damn useful. I stuck a random live drum bus in there and out comes massive attack tear drop! twiddled for 5 more minutes and I know it's there to stay in the tool box. damn good sound! not too many of these *usable* super squashers around. "

keFIR

keFIR_plug.jpg

"keFIR" is a VST, zero latency, mono FIR filter based on impulse responses loaded from wave files. Filter length can be adjusted to maximum of 8K taps.
It has a "mix" knob for mixing input with output, "gain" knob for setting output volume level, "length" knob for setting filter length (you can also set the length by clicking right mouse button on impulse response). Adjusting filter length will linearly affect CPU usage, more taps used require more CPU power. User can optimize it by choosing proper filter length, for example some amp cabinet impulse responses have long tail of 'almost zero' coefficients which can be shortened without audible difference, to save some extra CPU cycles.
The plug requires at least Pentium 3 (it's highly optimized with SSE code) and Windows OS.
Installation
On WinXP and later you just need to uncompress dll's into your vst folder. On Windows versions prior to XP, you have to install Gdi+ library from microsoft, it's here.
It also uses great I/O library - Libsndfile (included in keFIR download package).
License
"keFIR" (VST plugin) is free (donate if you like it) for usage in music applications, I forbid it's sale, modifications or sharing it over internet without consulting this with me, the author. I give no guarantee of proper work of this software and I take no responsibility of unwanted results of this software.
