The former hostages - tainted testimonies?

what get captured make a total dick out of yourselves ? . no out of the realms of possibilites i suppose .

So... If a bunch of tooled up Iranians appeared outnumbering you'd fight your way out. Killing both yourself, and causing a major diplomatic outrage because you opened fire first (remember, you're dead and the only witnesses are the Iranians)...

In contrast to the appalling treatment received by our people, the BBC has this report on the recently released Iranian.

Iran is a country that has claimed to be close developing its own nuclear power, has launched space rockets and got the sailors GPS position wrong. What other Iranian "claims" will you believe next...?

You are a brainless moron. I did 16 years in the Army.,. the idea is not to die in a pointless and futile gesture. They were out-gunned and had a pretty pathetic 'craft' to defend from. They did what they had to do in the circumstances.

How they behaved in captivity reflects on, from what I've been led to believe, is a change in tack on the techniques that I was taught. It used to a simple name, rank (only if it was known), number, and religious nomination (optional). You didn't give denials becuse they could be videoed and editted into admissions. Nowadays it seems to allow for 'controlled admissions' so that the captives can reduce potential adverse reactions from the captors.

To me it seems that the actions of the Iranians have been no worse than our actions on holding captives. Gone are the days of hooding, but stress positions, poor conditions (cold or excessive heat), noises, etc are just methods of building stress within a captive before they go for interrogation. This is legal and accepted within law. What was done by the captives was within the letter of the training that they were given.

As part of the training I had, we underwent Escape and Evasion (E&E) training and resistance to questioning training. At that time it included hooding. It is a horrible experience, but it goes with the job.

The comments you have come out with show that you have NO idea of service life. Find out what you are talking about before you sprout out the rubbish that you have already posted.

Iran's claim is garbage and is intended for home consumption. The launch that they did was still only sub-orbital. Thay have had military launchers capable of reaching the same altitudes for years. Even the V2 managed to reach 117 miles, if IIRC the Iranian firings didn't even reach that!

Yawn ... You keep to your little fantasy world . Leave the people in the real to it .

Actually I was thinking along the lines of ... if you are surrounded by iranians, do not escalate the situation.

You'd almost think they picked the saddest members of the boarding party and had their PR drones whip up a media controversy around them, making it an issue of their personal failings, to distract us all from underlying fact that the government put service personnel in a position where this sort of shit can happen and is likely to.

How come JC never answers legal questions  Genuine query.

Personally, I've no idea whether selling their stories taints their witness testimony. But they didn't mess about.
