I think Cardiff is a bit overpriced at the moment, Llantwit. Have you thought about Barry as an alternative? You'll get a shit-load more house for your money, and it's only a few miles away.

I bought a house recently in Barry & used Wisemove (independent) mortgage advisers in Cathederal Road and Hartland & Watkins solicitors around the corner in Cowbridge Rd East. Both of 'em know their stuff & are cheap.
