I can;t believe anyone can remember the first film they saw in the cinema. I remember queuing to get into 101 dalmations, but not getting in, and that definitely wasn;t my first trip to the cinema.

Can remember seeing Disney's Robin Hood; Incredible Journey - the one with the dog and cat travelling across the USA to find their owners; Escape to Witch Mountain (1975); lots of shit disney films basically - and Live and Let Die with my Dad in 1973 - scared the shit out of me, and probably made me a McCartney fan for ever.

Went to saturday morning shows to see children film foundation films - but the films shown were old even then, mostly black and white, and not good.

First films I remember going to by myself were Star Wars, followed by Close encounters, Watership Down (took my little sister) and whatever Bond films were out round then.

Last film I saw at the cinema was Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy. Don;t go to the cinema that often thses days.

annie... i had to be escorted out of the cinema for being rather distraught... apparently as a kid I was a bit too sensitive... only way mom could make me watch films was to bribe me with lots of popcorn. Once i'd finished the bag, I'd get up ready to leave. :D

the last one... probably star wars.

First: Swiss Family Robinson (1960) - John Mills and plucky family fight animals and pirates - I was only 2 or 3 and the scene in which the Robinsons roll logs down the hill to thwart the pirates had me crying my eyes out in sheer terror.

The last one I went to was The Machinist - I only tend to go to free screenings cos I'm a tight bastard. Going to see Me & You & Everyone We Know on Thursday.

That reminds me- The last one I saw was actually Donnie Darko on the big screen in Kensington Gardens.

So I've got both the first one & the last one wrong now! :o

Can't remember last one, but first one was "Mary Poppins" in 1965.

Last one I'm not sure, but I think it was a Mike Leigh.

1st film was Bambi - but I only remember the trailer 'The Strongest man in the world' about some serum accidently drunk by someone or other.

Next film was Star Wars (1977) :D and so were my next two.

Last film was Kill Bill 2

I recall seeing The Good Earth, Psycho, All About Eve, when I was very young. Little kids got into lots of movies via the drive-in.

I remember the 'coming soon' for Dr. No. The trailer showed the love interest, standing naked with a towel held to her chest: they showed her back from the butt up. It was pretty racy stuff.

Last movie seen was Batman Begins.

Thank you Johnny for not making me feel to old.

The first film I saw was "The Sound of Music" (apparently I danced in the aisle so no change there).

The most recent film was "Dig!" - a fabulous rock'n'roll fable of two bands (the Dandy Warhols and the Brian Jonestown Massacre) and their love/hate relationship. Lots of sex and drugs and rock'n'roll.

I remember seeing that one then, as well. Also, Old Yeller.

First film wasn't at a cinema, but a screen and projector set up in the Wardroom of the Naval base my Farther was based at. The films would have been shipped out on a bi-monthly basis. I remember it was all "family" and Disney films. The first one was Mary Poppins, and also things like jungle Book etc.

The last film (at the cinema) was Madagascar. We took the littl'un last weekend.

Mostly watch DVD's now of course, can't get the babysitters very often. :D

i'm fairly sure my first was 'e.t. - the extra terrestrial' (1981). i remember not really understanding what the cinema was, one minute we were at home, the next we were in a big dark room with moving pictures on a wall :o i think i was in my jimjams too :D

after that came 'the fox and the hound' (1981), 'mickey's christmas carol' (with a rereleased 'jungle book') (1983) (matthew hodge's birthday i think), 'star trek iii: the search for spock' (1984) (richard pillans's birthday; fairly sure he threw up in the auditorium after too many sweets), and then 'back to the future' (1985). afer that i saw 'batman' (1988), then nothing till 'get shorty' (1995). after that i went to the cinema more often.

last film i saw at the pictures was something at the cube i think, a documentary or something. last feature film would probably have been 'the bourne supremacy'.

Either re-releases of Fantasia or Snow White when I was about 3/4, I had a bag of Opal Fruits for Snow White and they used to be double wrapped. I managed to eat half a bag with the wax inner wrapper on and puked everywhere. :o

Last film was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and I loved it. :D

I must hasten to add, I didn't see it when it first came out - that was 13 years before I was born!

first one with my parents taking me was probably some awful guff like the care bears movie, transformers movie, or potentially a disney movie - i remember seeing fox and the hound,101 dalmations and bambi on the big screen at woolwich cinema.

first one on my own well with friends was, (shamingly), look who's talking too.

last one was charlie and chocolate factory.
