I kinda like ID...its bloody awful but infact its so bad its quite good. The Firm however (original version) is the daddy of all hoolie films-as a genre I dislike this type of film but if its well made I can forgive the subject matter as is the case with the firm.
Green Street 2 was'nt even put on general release over here, went straight to video did'nt it? a sure sign of quality prob be worth watching for the badness factor

it was made purely for the american market.
most of the cast are american.
they all wear orange jumpsuits and they don't even bother to make the prisoners look british. there are more mexicans in british jails than i thought and prison yards are always lit by extremely bright sunshine.
I saw it last night and thought it was terrible. Going by Nick Love's previous offerings I wasn't exactly expecting The Godfather, but it was worse than I thought possible. It's not a patch on the original, which I don't think is the masterpiece many make it out to be, but works as a piece of drama and contains some decent acting performances, especially from Gary Oldman. It's not even a patch on The Football Factory, which shows you just how bad it is.
The fight scenes are just about the only bits that work, they're more realistic than in other films and are filmed on hand held cameras which gives them a documentary/newsreel quality. But everything else about it is utter rubbish. There are no characters, only caricatures - whoever said it was like a Cockney version of Harry Enfield's Scousers is bang on the money.
The youngsters are going to lap it up though. I dread to think how many 'melts' and 'dry lunches' I'm going to hear this season.
