Well, I would say England were better in the first half than the second.
"
England absolutely dominated possesion in the first half."
Really? Do you really belive that? Honestly
They did. They didn't do much with it but Paraguay were shite first half. The first twenty minutes it looked like a matter of time before England scored again.
I think the breakdown of possesion was something like 60/40 which is pretty dominant.
I think it's just the good old doom and gloom mentality from people. If we were germany people would be saying 'efficiant performance - never really troubled, ominous how they will hit form when it matters etc'
As it's england it's, 'told you so, we are shite, never win, I hate the manager/formation/captain/kit'
I thought Owen, Neville and Cole (Ashley) were shite, the rest Crouch grafted, Ferdinand was imaculate, Robinson did everything he had to perfectly well, Gerrard was good 1st half, beckham was ok, Joe Cole played well, Terry had one slip.
It was a crap match and I really can't believe you think paraguay were 5 times better. They were rubbish too.
Trini v Sweden is quite good however
Maybe as a Blackpool fan I am conditioned into accentuating the positive from mediocrity?
The fact is, whatever the performance was like, England were pretty untroubled by the side tipped to finish second in the group and they got 3 points. I can't see how anyone could disagree with the last statement I make.
