Good result and it means they have qualified for the Quarter finals . Could in theory be any team from Group B we have next then but it's most likely to be N Korea or the USA . Lets hope it's the americans so we can give them a nice beating

Argentina got better, but only marginally. The first goal was one of the best own goals I've ever seen, and I was impressed by how confident and yet not arrogant the England girls were. Apparently we've got a good draw for the quarters too, avoiding the heat with an earlier kick-off on Saturday.

We drew with the current world champions and IIRC France are a very good Womens footballing nation and we dumped them out before the finals proper began .

To bne honest FIFA rankings for the mens game are fairly worthless , don't know if it's the same for the womens game but I suspect they use the same system to calculate ranking

Just watching, started well, good freekick bounced in USA area, should have been on the end of it and girl on left put in but wanted it on her right. Great fun but i'm feeling frustrated again! Makes me more nervous than mens football as its so random.

I have to confess, this is the first time I've properly watched a women's football game, and in some ways it's more watchable than the men's version - sure the standard is lower, but there's a refreshing lack of a lot of the BS that goes on in the men's game - moaning at the ref, rolling around on teh floor, etc.

I totally agree mate. It is definitely a lower standard but i like it, find it very entertaining. England's Kelly Smith is by far the best player i've seen, she looks the part and has some decent technique.
Its actually got my interest in the womens game (watched every game) where i wouldn't have bothered before.

Damn it, the difference is that the US have more conviction in the final third and we are quite poor when we get near their goal. Also the mistakes that are made are a little laughable, like their third. Awful.
