Photography is about the detail.

Bollocks. It's rude. You said so yourself. You should have just bought a camera phone ;)

BTW; 8 new manufacturers of MF digital sensors appeared in the last month!

8!

8? Wow! It's the future, man  :p

I just bought myself a rolleicord - does it mean I'm defunct now? :( ;)

What you paid for your Ricoh would have bought a mint 503!

A Hassie ain't gonna fit in my pocket though is it? :p

I'm very happy with my choice of using both digital and film - and all your bellyaching ain't gonna make me change my mind :p

So, what is the fundamental factor that defines photography as a unique art form?

I mean, paintings OK innit? Good in fact but, what makes photography better?

BTW; Bigger pocket = more room for your Hassie ;)

Nah. I've seen real people wear them. It's not nice. You have to be undoubtedly beautiful to get away with it. I'm not. Maybe you are :D

Oh I absolutely am - I could wear a bin liner me ;)

I dont see how photography is *unique* from any other art form?

It's just as valid as any other, but no more or less.

I suppose it documents without lies a bit more maybe, but even photos can be doctored.

Is documentary photography 'art'?

Photography is unique. Obviously. But, why? you have anything worthwhile to say?
