The dog's farked off

Thanks FBL - I read up about it when he first fucked off but (being quality street) there wasn't actually that much chocolate - more sugary crap inside. His nose is a bit dry but his ears are cool.

The first thing I thought of when I got up this morning was your mutt Madz...

Glad he is home and suitably remorseful! ;)

glad he's back. Chocolate is a real killer for dogs (as are onions, raisins grapes and a variety of other items). I briefly had a beagle who scoffed a whole box of dark chocolate. £300 vet's bill and a whole load of vomit and shit later she was fine - until she ate 8mg of diazapam

anyway, glad you and madzdog are ok - keep an eye on the wee man but I should inmagine if anything bad was gonna happen it would have done by now :)

edit: just read that post and thought it important to mention that the reason we only had the beagle briefly wasn't that she died - we were only a haf-way house between gf's bro and mum.

My dog loved grapes, absolutely adored them, and was never ill after eating them, and lived to be 13.5.

and my dog scoffed some anchovy stuffed olives tonight!

He too loves grapes but spits out his carrots at dinner time. :D

Now I know he can select the sweets he likes and even unwrap them I have images of him sitting cross legged in the best chair, skinning up and watching porn whenever we're out :D

He's a weird dog - we have a bucket that all the food waste goes in and quite often you'll find a pile of tea bags, a carrot and a potato in his bed that he's knicked from the bucket. I'm going to change his name to Gollum.

My aunt's dog used to steal raw potatoes.

He'd snaffle into the raw potato draw and snaffle a few. They'd be turning up - full of tooth marks and carefully secreted under cushions and in corners - for months.

how utterly wonderful. He sounds very sweet :)

The whole dog / chocolate thing does get blown out of proportion a bit. Even by the most conservative estimate a medium sized (about 20kg) dog can scoff around a half pound bar of chocolate without any real danger.

I'm not saying you should make a habit of buying your dog a bar of Fruit and Nut every day but a small chunk now and again won't hurt them and they do love it so.

Glad you pooch is back by the way :)
