sorry...can't speak right now...in shock :o

wooohoooo :D

Me too!!! Is Brian Tinnion still involved at Bristol City??? (ex Bradford!)
That's our 1st win since early January. 3 more wins should ensure safety I hope starting with Northampton at home on Sat.
At the start of this season we were playing, open, attractive football with 2 exciting wingers. Scoring goals for fun and generally entertaining! Since October we have been shite. That's the only word to describe us. Shite.
Hence why citygirl and I are so surprised with tonights unexpected win!!!

great result yesterday, looked like we were going to blow another two goal lead, but a stunner from Kevin Ellison wrapped it up for us!

My main hope now is for Oldham to keep fucking up so the game at Blackpool on April 7th doesnt become the decider for the last play-off place - too much tension there.

We may be out of the play off spots for now, but we'll be back by the seasons end, no doubt.
I admire your confidence but you're leaving it mighty late. And we'd have to fuck up pretty spectacularly for it to make any difference to you. Although that's always a possibility. Especially now that i've jinxed our chances by telling my mate to pass my ticket for the manics on may 27th on to someone else cos it clashes with the play-off final. Nothing like baseless optimism,is there?

we've all but blown it now, need you and/or yeovil to bottle it completely for us to have any chance.

neither of us will be going to cardiff anyroads. but at least we can go to elland road and laugh next season!

Cracking win for City 3-0 at Crewe yestarday. We played them off the park! Our second goal was like a league 1 version of the Argentina goal in the world cup! 3 wins out of 4 and we were unlucky to lose to Forest. Scoring goals and playing well! This could be our season!

This was my post from last August. We genuinely were playing shit hot football at the time! A few weeks after that we lost at home to our local rivals Huddersfield and never recovered. We've not won at home since December and we got relegated today to the bottom tier. We were in the Premiership in the year 2000. My club is an absolute disgrace from top to bottom. I expect a 3rd administration in 7 years this summer which could well spell the end of my club altogether.

Come ON Forest! You have no idea what a response your result got at the Mem after we'd beaten Swindon :D

They'll bottle it against Rotherham. Just win, please :)

Er, what about us:mad:

We can still do it

I've always held Rotherham in the highest regard, previous posts where I may have indicated otherwise were of course purely in jest...

The fact we got this beauty off them has softened me up to them too

Fuck me, we are good at the moment.

Didn't actually realise Blackpool could still do it when I wrote that mate.

C*ty will bottle it like the big bottlers they are. Then we can have derbies against them in Swindon next year. That should be fun

Apparantly yesterday, Leeds fans were singing "we're all going to blackpool" - This was credited by the observer as 'the more knowledgable, genuine, jovial Leeds fans'

So fucking knowledgeable they havn't noticed we're on 80 points and guarenteed a play off spot then, nor it seems have the Observer.

I don't care really, we need to go up though cos we'll lose Hoolahoop if we don't and he is god.

Maybe they were credited as 'knowledgeable' cos they can see the inevitable scenario: Blackpool to win at Swansea and Bristol City & Forest to fail to beat Rotherham & Crewe respectively and Leeds to win 8-0 at Derby and Hull to lose 2-0 at Plymouth?

That's where the clever money's going.

Seriously though, as a City fan I wouldn't write off Blackpool's chances of an automatic spot. Although I hope i'm wrong, obviously.

Play-offs it is then, desperately hoping the players can learn from the mistakes we've made this season and get it right over three games....it was always going to be a long shot today, congrats to Bristol City, you just about deserved it.

All together now, "Andy Morrell, Andy Morrell, Andy Morell, Andy Morrell" (repeat with big smile)

The lad is great, clever striker who grafts and grafts and then grafts some more.

Oddly, the win yesterday could be a mixed blessing as I fancied Yeovil in the play offs not Oldham who we have got now - still, regardless of whether we go up, we've been magnificant - easily the best team in the division by a country mile if you take away the first 2 months of the season - We've hammered Scunny and Bristol C, beat them both pretty easily at their grounds and 83 points is a huge total for the third place team. To finish above Forest is another massive achievement by Simon Grayson. Had we not needed time to gel we would have got about 95 points.

http://www.urban75.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=148915&highlight=Simon+Grayson - this shows where we were, not 18 months ago and how far we've come in that time. The bloke deserves a medal for what he's done. OK, we've had a bit of investment but players like Jacko, Evatt, Hoolahan, Williams, Morrell, Gorkss and many others have been clever, canny signings - He never buys who the fans pick out, always seems to find some gem in the reserves of other teams that noone has heard of, people have written off or has been forgotten, pick em up for nothing and reignite their careers. His knowledge of the game for such a young manager is immense. This is his team as well - Only Keith Southern, Keigan Parker and Coidy (who never plays anyway) are left from when he took over 18 months ago.

Quite how Evatt, Morrell, Barker and Foxy havn't got in the PFA team of the year is a mystery - We are the best team in our division (certainly according to an awful lot of away fans who come to chez Bloomfield) and we had only one player:confused:

I said at the beginning of the season that tenth or above would be progress so to achieve a points total like we have and finish third is special.

The future's bright, the future's TANGERINE

nervous and excited about our game tonight, gutted that I can't be at the City Ground tonight, will be one hell of a party if we manage to get through. Prutton and Holt back in the line up I'm hoping we'll be too strong for Yeovil to deal with. Calderwood wants us to score goals but I wouldn't be surprised if we're put under pressure for the first 15 minutes, so long as we can deal with it we should be ok...

YOU REDS!!!

I feel sick: I'm not at Wembley cos of, well - things that teh internet doesn't need to know - but I don't even want to listen to the game - I've been wierdly unnervous during all the play offs but I am nervous as hell now.

Well done Rovers yesterday btw.

I was happy we got Yeovil at first but I think if we were playing a team made up of the corpses of dead Chelsea pensioners I would be nervous.

I even wrote a chastising letter to the observer this morning!:D

To whom it may concern.

I write referring to the article on pg 7 of Sunday's sport supplement, a preview of the League One play - off final between Yeovil and Blackpool.

The article states "Over the past year (Valeri Belakon) has invested 4.5 million in Blackpool" - wrong, he has PLEDGED to invest that money over a five year period. Considerably different to the implication the article makes that the squad is awash with money. Simon Grayson has played the load and free market with skill and signed quality players. The budget for the season has been larger, but certainly not to the tune of millions as suggested by the writer.

The second mistake in the article is where it states "Defender, Ian Evatt, on loan from QPR" - again - wrong, Ian Evatt signed permanently for the club in January ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/lancashire/content/articles/2007/01/05/bfc_sign_evatt.shtml)

I cannot imagine the newspaper getting such simple facts wrong regarding a premiership club, but then again - It's only Blackpool so why bother researching your facts?

Yours sincerley
